'18 Kids and Counting' Star Michelle Duggar Rushed to Hospital

Michelle Duggar, the mother of 18 kids with one on the way who stars on the TLC show that features her family, was taken to the hospital, PEOPLE reports.

The '18 Kids and Counting' mom was having gallbladder issues but her unborn baby is not in harm, according to a TLC rep.

"This weekend, Michelle Duggar was admitted to an Arkansas hospital due to gallbladder issues," the rep said.

"The pain from a gallstone was generating some contractions. Just to be safe, she was airlifted a Little Rock, Ark., hospital, so that in the unlikely event that she had to be delivered early, she would be close to a NICU center. Though there were some fears that the baby was in trouble initially, it soon was discovered to be solely the gallstone causing the discomfort. Michelle is resting comfortably, and the baby is doing fine," the rep continued.

Duggar will stay in the hospital for a few days while doctors monitor her condition.

"Doctors want to observe Michelle in the hospital for the next couple of days, but it would appear that the pain medication they have given her for the gallstone has worked, and there is no need for immediate surgery. The hope is that any necessary surgery can be delayed until after she delivers," the rep added.

I as a man do not understand child birth, but as a GOD fearing human I personally feel that enough is enough. Yes GOD does give us choices that we are able to make. But I feel that after this many children that are NOT physically or mentally harmed that you need to make the choice to STOP. You should feel blessed that you have been given these children and leave it at that !!!! I also feel Jim Bob needs a hobby and leave his poor wife alone. You can see their love for each other with every show, but love can be expressed in other ways. Permit your older children to live a life without the younger children always in tow. I LOVE watching the show, but feel disappointment that the older children are raising their siblings.

She needs to quit while she's ahead. She's going to wind up with serious health issues if she's not careful. She keeps having babies after babies after babies. God forbid something happen to her and all those kids will be without a mother and that father will be holding all of it down by himself. The doctors should be giving her some type of advice on stopping. I mean ultimately it's her body but they should be warning her of the consequences that she could face physically. Now it's the gallblader, next time it may be something else. She really should take a break.

Doctors have gave her advice and most wouldnt deliver any more kids for her because of the risk.They had trouble finding one that would.
It was on the show.

The only reality show I watch is the Duggars. (My cave-in to realty TV.) I, too, hope she will stop having kids. Enough is enough.
I hope she's doing alright, and that the kids are ok without mom in the house.

No need to worry about the kids while mom is in the hospital,as she does not essentially care for her 18 chidren.
Now as previously stated on the show.........she does initially care for her newborns for about a year.
Then the duty is passed down to the next child in
line,that does not have a BUDDY!(as mrs dugger her self states)
Honestly,yes i find this rather frustrating! If you ever notice on the show she only has the baby only when she is nursing,so yes a little conflict on what she states.
Also you may notice that each older child always has a younger child with them,therefore yes the buddy system is always in place.
I am not a hater.....i just don't see the sense in being a baby making machine if you can't legistacally spend the time that all children deserve.
However on the other end of the spectrum you can obviously see that ALL of her children are clearly happy,grounded, smart and quite pleasantly well behaved children!!

are you pro-choice? because it is HER decision, and by the way, at least she is raising her kids in a loving environment, and not depending on the government to pay for them...what do you think about those kids of people?? those are the ones who need to have their "uterus removed", right?

Bree, if it weren't for the show, they would be having a very hard time feeding all those kids. In this economy, wait until jim-bob's tenants can't pay the rent on time or move out. how's he going to support everyone with empty properties? These people assume God will provide, but they end up using thrift stores, charitable donations, and yes, government aid.

I'm almost ashamed to say I had the same cruelly facetious thought. Regardless of her wherewithal and willingness to have so many (and you know the older kids are deeply involved in raising their siblings at this point), just think of the 19 children she might have given a new chance in life by adopting them. Why keep chugging them out of her poor, tired old womb until it just can't function anymore, or the effort kills her and all of the kids end up without a mom?

why does this couple feel the insatiable need to have more & more kids!..maybe its her body's way of saying just time stop & be thankful & happy for the ones you allready have at home.. For God sakes your nothing but a baby machine at this point.this woman obviously loves be in a pregnant state ALL the time.

If this woman continues to keep having children she may find herself with something worse then Gallstones. The human body can only take so much punishment. Who knows her kidneys may be next. Procreation is a miracle being a baby factory is just going to kill her. Leaving all those children without a mother is worse then making all those babies in the first place.
