I'm not here to say sympathetic things about Tiger Woods, although I honestly believe on some level he needs (or has earned) my sympathy. I just wonder if or when any of the reports on all this will mention that none of this started until after his father died.
It seemed so obvious to me - a less than avid golf fan - that his father's death was terribly, terribly hard on him. I think in some ways he lived for his dad's approval, and when his dad died there was no one's approval to seek. Is that normal? Of course not! But this is a man who has been a celebrity since he was just a kid! His father was his anchor. Without that, he was unteathered. I believe that's what we're witnessing right now.
Forgive yourself, Tiger ... you can't seek another's forgivness until you do.

When Tiger Woods said that he was sorry he let his family down how many ladies and over what period of time did he have in mind? It couldn't be eleven ladies since 2004 when his wife was pregnant with his first daughter as the stories have it. If it is he is just sorry he got caught. All the aura he created around himself is just to make sure he gets his space to do just as he pleases. He thought that having money means that he can play anytime he wants and not count the cost. He decided to forget his marriage vows and be callous with other peoples emotions. Tiger could not maintain close associations with other athletes because it wouldn't give him chance to sneak around. It's just sad how we author our own down fall!
