It was the fall finale of 'Glee' last night, and the club went to sectionals. We won't spoil what happened, but star Lea Michele gave a rousing rendition of 'Don't Rain on My Parade,' the song made famous by Barbra Streisand in 'Funny Girl.'We think Michele knocked it out of the park, but we're not sure how it compares to the original Streisand version.
Listen to both songs and tell us what you think.

GREAT SEASON-ENDING SHOW!
Problem was... it all seemed rushed - too much too fast. There was waaaay too much resolved, etc in such a short time. For weeks, it's all been "Sectionals, sectionals, sectionals, sectionals,...." and then last night - bleep! DONE! The finale could have been a two-hour show - or at least adequately spaced out.
The writers/producers need to do a better job spacing things out - create a rhythm to the story-line - hopefully, they'll do a better job next season.
CowTV will definitely be watching!

They did cover an awfully lot but, it was very well done. No stone left unturned. I love this show! Brilliant writing! Runs a close second behind my #1 fave, Breaking Bad. Can't wait for that new season to begin!
The season isn't over yet....
Barbra by far is the greatest....It is her song. Loved watching it performed on GLEE last night. So happy the younger generation is getting exposed to some of the classics. I am so hoping that some kid watching Glee may have looked up the song on I-Tunes and discovered Streisand :)

For me, Glee was the best surprise of the fall season. I only watched it in the beginning with my wife for her but I have to say I really like it. Love the 80s genre of music. Great performances. Looking forward to March.

Lea's version was wonderful--what a singer that girl is! But nothing is quite as good as the divine Miss S. Barbra always has been and always will be the best female singer of her generation. Lea may very well be the best of her younger generation. LOVE the show and all the characters and especially the musical numbers. What a talented group. Haven't seen last night's episode yet, but going to watch it right now. Can't wait!

Holy smokes, it's a tossup! I watched last night and loved Rachel's version. I watched Barbra Streisand's this morning and prepared to vote for her. Then I listened to Lea Michelle again and just can't decide, so I won't! Love them both!

Streisand is by far the better singer. Nobody can touch her in her vocal prime. Lea tends to scoop her way into the big notes (a little yelp before she hits it right on) something Barbra never did.
That said Lea is pretty amazing and if they ever get around to doing Barbra's life story on film I hope she is at the front of the line.

Even without the video, the dazzling Lea out-sings and outperforms the boring Barbara. Forget Barbara. Lea's on her way to Garland greatness.
