'Shaky' Brian Setzer Collapses at Concert

Rockabilly revivalist
Brian Setzer collapsed during a concert at a New Mexico casino Monday night after fans say the guitarist appeared unsteady,
KOB.com is reporting.
The Grammy winner was about two songs into his set when he walked off stage and collapsed. He was then rushed to a local hospital, but it's unclear which facility or whether he is still seeking treatment.
One concertgoer, Mike Anderson, told
RadarOnline.com that the former
Stray Cats frontman became visibly ill-looking 20 minutes into his show.
"Suddenly, he turned to his right and fell to his hands and knees before laying his guitar down on the stage and walking shakily away towards the right. We could see people at the side of the stage help him to the nearby stairway and he looked very shaken-up."
Setzer rose to fame in the Eighties with retro-greaser group Stray Cats, whose hits include 'Rock This Town' and the 'Stray Cat Strut.' The second chapter of his career began years later when he formed the 'The Brian Setzer Orchestra.' With that group, he has earned a trio of Grammys ('Jump Jive An' Wail' was huge) and has been nominated seven times.

I was not at the Isleta/Hard Rock last night. but in the past few years he has had a Holiday Show, and the guy and his band are Most Certainly 'High-Energy' ! Perhaps it was just too much appearances too close together on the show tour ?

Mitch..unless you know for a FACT it was drugs then you got NO RIGHT even suggesting such a thing. People do get sick, even rockers, even YOU! So for you to assume such a thing just shows me what an idiot you are. If you cannot back up what you say then you got no right even putting that thought into anyones head!!! THAT IS NOT RIGHT! I wish people like you would just go away. How about something nice like..hope he gets better? No, you gotta be negative in a world full of negativity...and we need positive these days. Not what you had to say which was negative. You know the saying about assuming things right? Well, enough said spinchter boy!

It was really hot in the theatre, even the audience was hot. And the place he was playing is as high up as Denver, so not much air. Hope is he okay, get well soon, Brian.

He was fine at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NY a couple of weeks ago. I hope it's not something serious.

Hey Mitch,
Think it could be the flu? DUH!

If it's the flu, let's hope/pray that it is only the regular flu. I'd hate to think it was H1N1!
For all anyone knows is that it could have been food poisoning.
I really hope he's better soon.
I had the pleasure of meeting Brian and his wife a couple of years ago. He is a lovely, classy kind of guy, I hope he gets well soon!

I think Kate Hudson is a little HO! She flits from one man to another and never settles down. One wonders what her young son must think of all of the different men she sleeps with. She would do well to get into therapy to find out why she has such a need to always have a different man in her life.

First of all, that has NOTHING to do with the article on Brian Setzer.
Second, Kate was MARRIED to Chris Robinson for 6 YEARS!
Third, you are an idiot.
I've been a fan of Brian Setzer's since the '80's and the Stray Cats all the way through the B.S.O. He is truly one of the last great performers and an incredible guitarist. His music has helped me through a lot of tough times in my life and I'm sure a lot of other people can say the same. All of his shows are super high-energy and that takes a lot out of a person. Brian, you are the man ! Get well my friend !

We are supposed to see him tomomorrow night at his annual Christmas concert in the Coachella valley. of course we'll be sorry if he can't perform, but most importantly is that he is well! He is a wonderful person and we've always been so happy he has a soft spot for our area. Get better soon, Brian!
