Rihanna Bares Soul and Body for GQ
Rihanna's had a lot to overcome this year, and she's ending 2009 in a very liberating way: With a candid interview and nearly-nude photo spread
in GQ Magazine. In the interview, Rihanna openly discusses how she coped with life and fame in the days and months after Chris Brown beat her, saying "now it's like I finally get to let go and move on."
After the jump, Rihanna's words and a photo so sexy we couldn't put it on our main page.

If you're faint of heart and/or don't like seeing incredibly provocative photos, we recommend you don't click this gallery open, because the first photo (which is too much to put as the lead here) is insanely risque.

On Venting Through Music: "I've put everything I've wanted to say for the past eight months into my music."
On Being Able to Talk About the Brown Assault: "Very liberating. It's relieving. Because it was built up for so long, and all these thoughts and emotions have been running through my mind for the past eight months. And now it's like I finally get to let go and move on ... I don't like talking about it a lot. But every time I do, it's better; it's easier each time.
On Why She's Speaking Out: "Because I wanted to move on. And I knew that was the only way I could have done it. And I wanted people to move on with me. 'Cause the last big thing they know about me
is That Night. And I don't want that to be what people define me as.
On What She Learned: "Um ... really really really that love is blind. It took a lot of strength to pull out of that relationship. To finally just bascially cut it out. It was like night and day. It was two different worlds. It was the world I lived for two years, and then having the strength to say, 'I'm gonna step into my own world. Start over.'
On Her Steamy Photo Spread: "It's very sexy, yeah. At one point [chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group]
L.A. Reid came into the shoot, and he was like, 'Rihanna, put some f------g clothes on!'"

in your interview after the chris brown debacle, you cried about how important it is to be a good example to young girls.....now you pose almost nude for GQ...way to be an example. makes me sick.

For that almighty dollar. I totally agree w/u!
I agree with you, don't want her for a role model for my daughter. It's a shame, she really is a beautiful woman (on the outside) with a nice voice but like all of the others that started off nice she too has turned TRASHY
She's not posing in a childrens' magazine. This is a magazine geared towards adults who, presumably, don't need role models. If a child sees these images, question the parental involvement, not Rihanna
I agree. Its tasteless. She's a pretty girl, she didnt have to do that. Now she just looks trashy. What was she doing, trying to send him pictures of herself so he'd miss her. She just lost my vote.
;-(
What does it matter how much clothing a person wears or doesn't wear???? It doesn't! We were all born nude. I think she is a great example to women and girls who are in a domestic violence situation. I know a woman who finally left her abuser by Rhianna's words so she is helping Sue. Are you jealous you could never pull off her look? Let me guess, "I wouldn't want to". And that I call bulls**t.

I wouldn't want my daughter to look up to a woman who strips like a whore.
we're also all born idiots... it's too bad that hasn't changed in all your years.
Holly, are you an idiot? Since when does society have people walking around in the nude? Being born nude is one thing. As an adult, you will get arrested! Get some values you moron!
Why does it have to be a jealousy, Holly? A woman can't disagree with what another woman is doing without being insanely jealous and insecure? I don't know about anyone else, but I would be just as upset about an unattractive woman posing in such an immodest, classless way -- would I be jealous of the unattractive woman then?
And, no, many decent woman out there would never want to pose that way (even if they could -- and there are many that do qualify). Women have fought long and hard for equality, so why would any of them want to diminish it by turning themselves into nothing more than sex objects?
It's also degrading to the woman, harmful to the young girls that want to look like that, and imposes a false sense of reality upon young boys.
But that's OK, though, because we're all born naked. Go ahead and contribute to the degradation of women if you want to -- I won't.
guess it is alright in ur book to that she wears dead flesh???
People's hang-ups about the nude human form never fails to get me shaking my head in disbelief. What is so bad about the human body that we'll all be sent to hades if we see one? Why is she a whore for displaying her's? Is it any wonder there are so many people so screwed up because of these archaic mores?
@Duff
How is that "stripping like a whore"?
You don't want "your daughter" to be successful and be on the cover of magazines, but you'll go to strip clubs and look at porn? People are such F***ing hypocrites.
Big deal. Her music is still wack.
Reply
If you listen to the songs and the words. Her music does have meaning. She's not a bad singer. If her music is so whack she would'nt have a record deal and be where she's at today. I give her much props through her tough times in the past year with her ex relationship and she's continuing to live and make her music for her fans. God Bless
@Victoria
Have you noticed there is not that much great music these days? She is where she is today because people will get a record deal for anything (even if you don't have that great of talent) these days.
I'm not really feeling Rihanna. I can think of a million classier poses that she could have done with the same amount of clothes instead of looking like she should be in trashy porn magazine. I mean this is GQ . . .I also fault the stylist and the photographer for taking GQ to trashy. Others have posed in almost nothing and the pictures were much classier.
Reply
and she wonders why she got beat.........all for the mighty black buck....real good example for young girls. so now its ok to take naked pictures, but not to get beat??? all the same to me....

Rihanna, your message is loud and clear! Lie about the assault between you and Chris and get all the sympathy you can, but you are hiding the truth. Chris Brown accepted his responsibility for the role he played in the clash, but you didn't, too busy playing the victim. You think you are a role model? Well I got news for you . . . . Have you ever heard the quote, "show all your goodies to the world, and you will have nothing to offer in the future". With that being said, based on your photo shoot, I am done with you and your lies and your music! I will use you as an example to tell my kids, especially my daughter what not to do!

She's a looker, there is no doubt about that. But she can't sing. Her voice is nothing special and she lacks musicality. But, looks are all it takes these days. Real musical ability is no longer necessary. The dumbing down of America.
