Sarah Jessica Parker Says Surgery Led to 'Molegate'

Sarah Jessica Parker appeared on 'The Late Show With David Letterman' and the topic got around to her trademark mole, which she had removed.

"I had a mole removed, which is far more invasive than hip replacement surgery, I assure you ... and far more disruptive to your life," she began.

"I just didn't care for it," she said of her decision. "I thought, you know I have about six free days where I can be bloody and stabbed and no one would care and honestly I didn't think a thing about it and then apparently it turned into molegate," she continued. Watch

"A woman came up to me on the beach, really upset, and she said, 'I'm so sorry, I don't know why you did that, that was your signature.' And I said ... well in my head I was like, 'My mole was my signature? Isn't my brain my signature?" Parker explained.

"Exactly, aren't you your signature?" Dave responded.

"Then for about the next 15 minutes I couldn't even hear anything anyone was saying to me because all I think, 'well, I made a terrible mistake ... can you put it back on?'" she added.

SJP had face surgery and all she got rid of was a mole? This is news??? She should have told the veterinarian to fix her ugly horse-face. She is no beauty.

All you politically correct morons are jumping all over me for being judgemental? Get a clue.. If someone id=s a public figure and plasters their face all over the media, they WILL be judged. Its human nature. Apparently, you are pretty intolerant, since you can't stand someone with a different point of view. You condemn me for being judgemental, yet you are judging me. I'm with you geokaz, but it looks like she had more done than just a mole. She looked so gaunt and haggard. I'd bet there was more done but not very well.

Everyone's in the public eye... doesn't make it right to judge. Especially superficially. Obviously you do not understand the depth of real beauty. You have a right to your opinion, as all of us do... I would hope that you learn to incorporate grace, love, and respect into your thoughts of others, maybe then you would see others in a different life... maybe even yourself.

I agree. I don't find her attractive at all. Her face is too long and narrow. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about - there are many, many better looking women out there!

Uhhh...yeah...she had more than that done. Her eyes have been done too. Now she looks like Bette Midler! Nice try with the smoke and mirrors act though.

I don't believe anyone is judging you for having an opinion and it's not about political correctness? (This isn't even a political topic, for heaven sakes.) I think they're judging you for calling a woman ugly. There was a time when people weren't so proud to announce their hurtful opinions to the world. I am a woman and I think she's kind of pretty but if I thought she were really ugly, I'd just keep my mouth shut or just talk about it with friends - at least not write it on a public message board It's not "touchy-feely" - it's just a classier way to behave. Celebrities are just regular people.
