His personal life has everything to do with it. He is looked upon as a role model & is backed by many sponsors so yes, his personal life does have everything to do with it.

He's not even an athlete. He swings a golf club, then someone carries his bags, and drives him to the next hole. 'Athlete' of the decade.. what a joke. Does that mean the 70 year old's playing golf are athlete's as well?

They are pampered but very well conditioned.
Dave I hope you're kidding. 'He's very well conditioned'. Athlete of the decade for walking around the course? NFL referees are twice his age and do more then he does. In that case, NFL referees = athletes of the WORLD!
His achievements in golf make him Athlete of the Decade. He was a role model because of those achievements, not because of his personal life. I don't agree with what he did on a personal level, but as an golfer, he's one of the best.

People need to get a grip! What he did hurt his family, but he wasn't "doing" those girls on the golf course! Of course what he has managed to do in the past 11 years is to change the game of golf! So tell me how many major tournaments have you won with a broken leg? The Masters you say?? If it make you feel good to trash Tiger rather than turn your face the other way then I guess you are without sin and you also lives your entire life in the open.

I thoroughly agree , Tiger is an awesome athlete and the carry on stories are getting old fast, lets put our daily thoughts to all the troops overseas , people away from families , men and women putting their lives on the line ......... Tiger made his won bed and has to lie in it ..... this should not take away from him being awarded the Athlete of the decade , wake up America , there are so many more important issues today than Tigers infidelity
