'Top Chef' Contestant Kevin Gillespie, Wife Divorcing

'Top Chef' cheftestant Kevin Gillespie -- who finished third on the competition -- and his wife are splitting.

In an interview with USA Today, the reality TV star admits he's going through some personal turmoil.

"I've had a lot of conflict ... like, in my personal life, my wife and I are going through a divorce. So it's been really challenging," he says.

And it was all happening while he was competing for the 'Top Chef' crown.

"And all of this was going on during 'Top Chef,' which kind of puts some context around why, in the final two episodes, I seemed out of it. It was kind of at the lowest point for us, you know?" Gillespie adds.

Hang in there Kevin. None of us know anything about your marriage, its challenges, nor what led to its demise. But, regardless of the reason, it's usually one of the most painful experiences anyone can ever go through. Most of us are pulling for you.

KEVIN should have won TOP CHEF, even though he admittedly did have a bad finale. Overall, throughout the entire season he was the most consistent AND easily had the most wins of both the Quick-Fires and the Elimination challenges.

I thought the other chefs were extremely cordial in Wednesday night's reunion episode, in regards to Michael's win. Michael did NOT deserve to win. He's a BUTT! He still had that nasty smurk on his face (during the reunion).

KEVIN should easily win "Fan Favorite!"

Kevin,you were THE pick for top chef winner with fans of TC. I'm sorry you had to go thru this right towards the end of your top chef game but you did well, very wll 3rd out of all those people. Your wife and your problems are sad but having gone thru a sad divorce sometimes it's for the best. hard to see that now. Your mom's a doll too. I liked Michael and his brother but you as others said had the best showing in every game with the exception of that last show.

you have a great fan base; get that cookbook out there now while you're hot in the press! Take advantage of this publicity.
