Leelee Sobieski Has a Baby Girl

Leelee Sobieski and her fiance got the best holiday gift of all this year, as they welcomed their first daughter into the world this week. Sobieski gave birth to a baby girl on Dec. 15, the actresses rep tells PEOPLE. Little else about the newborn is known, as the name, height and weight haven't been given yet.

The 'Joan of Arc' and 'Public Enemies' actress and her fiance, fashion designer Adam Kimmel, got engaged over the summer and months later, announced their pregnancy.

Talking with PEOPLE about a possible wedding, Sobieski, 27, said they "pushed that back" because of the baby news. "We are going to maybe do it in the spring," she said in September.

In response to ricochet....when 2 people get married, have a child or do anything in their personal life, who else are they supposed to think about....YOU and the rest of the critical fans who disappove of the way they live? I supposed u'd rather see a marriage thats unhappy and stressful rather than have a child in a loving, warm and stable home with parents that love each other just because they aren't married. Let me ask u a question, when u got married or had a child, did u think of friends, neighbors, strangers before u made any decisions or did u do what was right for u?....people like u make people like me realize the world truly is full of judgemental people who think the world revolves around them. Let me know if Leelee calls u to give advice on the baby's name or where she's educated.

Since at least 50% of marriages end in divorce, really, what difference does a "piece of paper" make? None, parents who love their child and support that child are all that is needed.

I totally agree with you. I have an 8 yr. old daughter and I have never been married. She is loved by both of her parents and has everything she needs. Some people need to get off their high horses and find something better to do with their time.

congrats to the happy new parents and it's not like getting pregnant or having a child/children before marriage is a new Phenomenon in Hollywood even some quite beloved actresses were pregnant with them and their soon to be husbands first child together before marriage a perfect example being Joanne Woodward though she later miscarried on her and Paul's honeymoon and had their first daughter Nell in April 1959 Nancy Barbato is another example she was pregnant with her and frank Sinatra's daughter Nancy Sandra before they were married in November 1939 as she was born 8th June 1940

Although the child is born out of love, I guess these people don't mind that the baby, whether the parents like it or not, is a bastard child, just like what dumbass Tom Brady did. I wouldn't want my child to have that title.

Why shud people speed up a wedding just because a baby is on the way? If the people having the baby are happy to have a baby out of wedlock surely its up to them. At the end of the day if the parents are in love, happy and in a stable relationship surely that is better than being in a marriage that is loveless and just having a child to stay together!
