this list is very acurate, except for number 1. they only talked about natasha richerdson 4 like a week. i think micheal jackson's death should be number one. rip to bolth of them

Agreed. MJ's death is #1 by FAR. And Farrah Fawcett was at one point the most famous woman on the planet. Her death, expected or not, was way bigger news than Natasha Richardson and it was bigger than Billy Mays death also. She and MJ were international superstars...outside of North America, who knows Mays?
I so agree with you aol is lieing about that #1 Micheal Jaskson had shut down the internet almost it was moving so slow and some site like cnn and others were shut down so as usssuall aol either be lieing or just never have it right.
What NO Anna Nicole Smith?? She got more media coverage then the 9/11 WTC Attacks...Nice choices AOL...
I agree! How MJ's death didn't rank # 1 is beyond me, and Natasha Richardson's, while sad and shocking at the time, certainly belongs lower on the list. How 'bout Brittany Murphy's death? It was VERY shocking and unexpected.
Agreed, MJ's death was important, and long overdue. RIP M"pedeophile"J!
wait, what the hell? no tiger? cool, this list proves he's not all peole care about!

You need to learn to spell.
I'm actually not surprised that Natasha Richardson made #1 over Michael Jackson. Her death was more shocking in a lot of ways, since she was a more normal celebrity despite the high respect she had from the industry, her family pedigree and her equally if not more famous husband. People are probably underestimating her fame and importance since she was not an American. Also, her method of dying was something a little scarier, since it could honestly have happened to anyone, and MJ was a drug addict (sorry to say it, but it's true). He was so weird that for as much as his death was sad, it wasn't as shocking.

May she rest in peace, but do you seriously believe her death generated more interest than Michael Jackson? And that Billy Mays' #3 did moreso than Farrah Fawcett who is ranked at 12?

MJ nearly brings the world wide web to a halt, and he's not the number one entertainment story of the year? He's probably the #1 entertainment story of the decade. And yet Billy Mays ranks #3 and he ranks #2. Hard to view this list as credible at all.

I so agree, I'm beginning to see very misinformation on aol lately a lot.
NO WAY WAS NATASHA RICHARDSON'S DEATH MORE SHOCKING THAN MICHAEL JACKSON'S...100% OF THE WORLD HAS HEARD OF MJ, I DOUBT 10% HAS HEARD OF NATASHA, WITH ALL DUE RESPECT.

I wasn't that surprised that Michael Jackson finally overdosed and died. He had been on that road to self destruction for many, many years.
Ummmm, didn't it ever occur to you (EDUARDO), and everyone else in disagrreance with Natasha's #1 spot, that AOL did this on PURPOSE??? Any way for them to get people all worked up. And you all fall for it, everytime. smh Micheal Jackson OBVIOUSLY belongs at #1. As long as YOU put him there, then there he will be.
R.I.P. Micheal Jackson. As well as to ALL of those lost this year, and prior to.
