'Clueless' Co-Star Mourns Death of Brittany Murphy

Alicia Silverstone and Brittany Murphy co-starred in 'Clueless,' the 1995 film that launched both of their careers, and Silverstone is saddened by the sudden loss of her friend and colleague. "I feel love in my heart for her – and hope she is at peace. This is truly sad," Silverstone told PEOPLE after hearing of Murphy's unexpected passing.

"I always felt connected to her as we shared a very special experience in our lives together," said SIlverstone. Murphy portrayed Tai in the mid-90s take on Jane Austen's Emma, a sweet but dumb girl at the mercy of the lead character's (Silverstone) well-intentioned meddling.

Silverstone said the two "didn't stay in close touch over the years," but their friendship endured. "I'm so saddened to hear this news. I loved working with Brittany. She was so talented, so warm, and so sweet."

Actually I don't think Britney would have shut anyone out of her life! She had a bubbly personality and seemed really sweet. Think Alicia got the big head and dissed Britney! Really doesn't matter now, Britney is gone and she was a gifted actress! My regards to her family.
