Brittany Murphy's Husband: 'My World Was Destroyed'
One day after the shocking, untimely death of his 32-year-old wife
Brittany Murphy, writer/producer
Simon Monjack spoke about the tragic Sunday his life was turned upside down.
"My world was destroyed yesterday," Monjack told Access Hollywood. Monjack also discussed his wife's last moments and whether Brittany was controlled by bad influences.
Full story after the jump.
Monjack claimed the day of Murphy's death began as "a regular day," but tragedy struck quickly, when Murphy was alone in her bathroom.
"[Her mother] Sharon went into the bathroom because she had been in there a long time," Monjack explained. "Her mom screamed for me and I ran. Then called 911."
The 'Clueless' and 'Girl, Interrupted' actress went into full cardiac arrest, and paramedics were unable to revive her. Murphy was pronounced dead upon arrival at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles
. TMZ reported Monday that the actress had experienced flu-like symptoms in the days leading to her death, and that Murphy was seriously ill a few hours before she collapsed.
"She had laryngitis," Monjack told Access Hollywood, confirming that his wife had seen a doctor. "She had been tired at the end of the year. She had made a couple movies."
Monjack admitted that some things he's read in the wake of Murphy's passing have been more comforting than others. "I loved what Ashton [Kutcher] wrote on Twitter," Monjack said, referring to a message posted by Murphy's 'Just Married' co-star reading: "2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine."
"I couldn't have said it better," Monjack said.
Meanwhile, some media outlets have suggested that Monjack was not a positive influence in Murphy's life. Monjack said his wife was not linked to anyone he'd consider a bad influence, insisting "I don't know why anyone would think that. She found love. We found love. Brittany didn't get to where Brittany was with anyone controlling her... Brittany was Brittany."
The LA County coronor's office are investigating the death of the actress, though no foul play is suggested. Initial reports show a strong possibility of death from natural causes. The results of an autopsy completed Monday will not be available for weeks, and the cause of death will not be released until the toxicology report is concluded.

well uh okey pete thank ya veery much for todays lessen of grammer corection , ya freakin idiot get a life.
It is sad. My 8 year old granddaughter worries about getting fat. I told her not to worry, she has plenty of time to worry about weight. I wa heavy when I was young. Now i am 51 years old and wear a size 6 jean. But when i was young in my teens I was heavy. Eat what you want when you are young. Try to eat some vegetables and fruits. Exercise is important the older we get. It is sad that kids 7 and 8 years old worry about there weight. May God Bless the family and friends of this young woman as they go thru this difficult time..

Hey MERLE, a woman is dead and YOU ARE correcting grammar. Way to go! Go, as in get out, leave here, nobody wants to hear from you. I wonder what life is like for you never having made a typo either...especially when typing with some kind of emotion, which, apparently, is something YOU ARE not familiar with.
Rest in peace Brittany Murphy.

Do you notice that Brittany's husband has an unusually large head? It's just freakishly and disturbingly large. My only other thought is that Brittany was boner-licious.

AVICE-Grammer is an important point--there are two many people who just can't be bothered to speak or write at a fifth grade level but think they know everything. TOO many people....TOO many people!!

I think we should leave speculation out of Brittany's cause of death. The coroner's office will let us know soon enough.
Brittany was a very bright star. My favorite movie is Uptown Girl because I felt it show cased who Brittany was and her beautiful soul will be missed.

The toughest thing about reading posts like these is being reminded of how opinionated and obnoxious my fellow Americans can be. The funniest and most annoying thing was reading several posts criticizing people about their spelling and grammar errors--while spelling grammar g-r-a-m-m-E-r. Now THAT's ridiculous.
This was a very young, talented person, and my heart goes out to her mother.

It is this kind of attitude that gave us eight disastrous years of George Bush. It speaks to your intelligence and your willingness to learn and act appropriately."
Avice, "grammer" is not in your dictionary, and if you would learn to use the word "too" correctly, it would speak to your intelligence and willingness to learn and act appropriately. signed, G. Bush

Age and Weight.....Descrimination.
Society's Taboos.
And yet we all struggle with both.
Wouldn't it be nice if society embrace them, then we all could gradually set into those golden years without delusions of being 108lbs and 25 forever.

Very sad for sure, but they both look like sh*t in the above photo. He looks puffy from booze+ and she looks 'skeletal'. Tragic!

Let's look before the death. Most people know that if your stomach hurts for more than two days, that you NEED to see a DOCTOR. So obviously there was a household full of nieve people.
Obviously the husband doesn't care, because if he did, he would have called the doctor within a few days of feeling sick and stomach aches.
10 DAYS OF STOMACH PAINS? HMMMM. Put Simon in prison for contribution to her death.

You are telling me that this poor girl wasn't allowed to have laryngitis without being accused of being on drugs. Believe it or not celebrities get sick just like anyone else. Even if she did have prescription drugs in her home so what!! They never said what they were. for all you know the prescriptions could have been for a bladder infection, strep, a rash or what to hell ever. As far as Heath Ledger and Brittany...when they tell you they found EMPTY pill bottles sitting all over the place thats one thing but I never read that anywhere..Pill bottles that still have the pills in them obviously haven't been taken yet. I better throw away any prescriptions I have...wouldn't want to be accused of being a druggie. Who doesn't have prescription bottles in their house? No matter how she died its awful. If she had been in a plane crash all the accusers would be boo hooing over her death.
