And you thought The King of the South was supposed to be sprung on March 10, 2010. Christmas arrived a few days early for one of the best-selling rappers of the decade. On Tuesday morning, 7 months into his scheduled 366 day stay behind bars, T.I. was released from Forrest City penitentiary.T.I. Out of Jail – The 29-year-old rapper now must spend 3 months in a halfway house – where residents are allowed to leave for work and contact with family – and then another 23 days under house arrest. T.I. must also put in over 500 hours of community service to fulfill his obligations to society following his 2007 arrest and conviction for illegal possession of firearms. And no, time logged in front of the camera for his MTV reality series 'T.I.'s Road to Redemption' does not count towards that total.
His Crime – Clifford "T.I." Harris Jr. was arrested for illegally purchasing several machine guns and silencers from undercover cops just hours before a scheduled performance at the BET Hip-Hop Awards in October 2007. Additional illegal firearms were found in the rapper's College Park home during the sting, which was aided by one of T.I.'s busted bodyguards. Formerly convicted of a drug offense in 1998, T.I. is barred from owning or buying firearms of any kind. The possession of several unregistered weapons could have put the platinum-selling rapper in jail for a decade. But under the terms of his plea deal, in which T.I. agreed to use his celebrity to educate at-risk youth about the dangers of violence and gangs, the rapper received a reduced sentence.
His Accomplishments – T.I. has sold nearly 10 million records in the United States, landing his last 3 albums at the top of the Billboard 200, and appearing in 3 No. 1 singles: "My Love" (Justin Timberlake feat. T.I.), "Whatever You Like," and "Live Your Life." He's got 14 Top 40 hits to his name, appeared as a guest in several dozen charting singles, and he's the CEO of his own label Grand Hustle Records. He's also an actor, appearing in 'The O.C.,' 'ATL,' 'American Gangster,' and the upcoming thriller 'Takers,' which he is also executive producing.

People keep defending him since he only "purchased" them and didn't use them...duh, did you not read the part that says he has a prior record that forbids him from PURCHASING or POSSESSING firearms???? He broke the law...stop making excuses for this criminal!

That's the problem with the world, everyone loves to point the finger at someone and ridicule them. So quick to judge others, but in reality the things your doing are just as bad or even worse. What seperates us from celebrities and well known people is that there life is publicized. Put yourself in there shoes and see what you what do. I'm not saying its always the right thing, but for that person in that particular situation maybe it is. Its sad when people look at you to fail, instead of trying to help you to prevail. When the economy was going down the tube and all the big wigs who ran off with peoples money and choas was going on and people losing there jobs and homes, why didn't we toss them all in jail. We gave them a bail out.... why can't we give one to the thugs? at least T.I. served his time....

Why all the bad talk..He did his time and even tried to help others that are going down the wrong path.

For those of you who know nothing about the Aransas prision system, every few months, at least 500 non violen offenders who had no problems in prision are released to make room for inmates waiting in county jails and on house arrest. The prisions and jails are at maximun capacity. I would rather see the person who murdered a entire family, or raped someone in prision that someone who trie to buy guns.

Who was threatening him, the Military??? What do you need multiple machine guns with silencers for? Plus an arsenal of assorted handguns. Were you that SCARED Mr. hardcore rapper? All he had to do was hire Robert Blake and OJ Simpson. They would've taken care of it!!

T.I. a Rat?
Newt Turner, known as the world's most controversial artist, officially infiltrates the music scene with “Put It In The Air”, his first mp3 single, scheduled for release on December 30, 2009. The Mp3 single will officially hit all radio formats and be available for download virtually everywhere.
“Put It In The Air” was inspired by Newt's need and desire to "put on" the Midwest and to vehemently express his feelings towards Grand Hustle CEO, T.I., who was serving time for weapons charges in Arkansas.
"I don't want people to get distracted by my feelings about T.I. being a rat, a protected federal informant. I will explain more in detail about that situation in a different track called, "A Rat In Jail", says Newt.
"I just feel like Hip-hop is a house we all live in. A house some of us have lived in all of our lives. I just feel it's necessary that I get all the rats out of our house, starting with him. I don't like living with rats, do you?

It's wonderful that T.I is out of jail, he is not a thug, he is an Artist ot our Society, someone to teach the youth, a leader, a minster of life, a trend setter, a father, a son, a King of his day. A man that paid his debt to society, and a contribution to the world in his gift to share his experiences. He is amazing. He is also loved by many.

I like TI.. he really didnt do anything wrong. when your that famous its hard to go out of your house without knowing who is after you. No, he shouldnt of purchused guns. Gun control!! He has enough money to be protected by bodyguards that would die for him.. so it could go either way.. he is in jail and making money.. hows that for justice.
