Tiger cheats on his wife and it's the biggest story to hit headlines in history. 'Slumdog Millionaire' cutie Rubina Ali is put up for sale by her parents and it's barely a footnote in your local gossip rag. What's up with that? Or how about legendary actress Farrah Fawcett's death getting pushed to Page Six? These are the top 5 stories of 2009 that should have been way bigger.

Bristol Palin Gives Birth – Is there really a more fascinating mother out there than Bristol Palin? Are you telling us Octomom is more compelling? More babies does not a more interesting mother make. Same goes for Michelle Duggar. And Kate Gosselin, while we're at it. Very pregnant at the tender age of 18, Bristol traveled the States with mama during her vice presidential run and then popped on Dec. 27, 2008. But wait, the best part is yet to come. In February Bristol told 'On The Record with Greta' that abstinence is "not realistic at all." And then in May she becomes an "Abstinence Ambassador" for the Candie's Foundation. Sometimes having one baby is a much bigger deal than having 19.

Kevin Gets Fed – There was a time when Kevin Federline could pick up the hottest girl on the planet. And he did. Britney Spears was the object of every man's dreams when the two linked up in 2004. How far the backup dancer-slash-nightclub legend (known by friends as "Meat Pole") has fallen. In July he was captured pretty well Fed. In August he was seen very well Fed. And by September the ex-male model was seen shirtless and Fed to the brim. It's a wonder he wasn't fully fed to the tabloid wolves.

Slumdog Actress For Sale – Nicolas Cage buys a $300,000 dinosaur skull, and it's front page news. But when Rubina Ali, the adorable Indian actress who portrayed young Latika in 'Slumdog Millionaire' gets thrown on the auction block by her father, it's buried beneath headlines about Bo the First Dog and the return of 'The Hills.' This is the 21^st century, people! You can't buy humans! Not today! Not even "an Oscar child," as Rubina's uncle allegedly called her. Though we must say, £200,000 is a lot of money to turn down...

Farrah Fawcett Dies – Farrah's passing got a lot of attention. But she deserved much, much more. She's up there with Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Beyonce as the most beautiful and desired women in the history of human civilization. But she just had to go and leave this earth just a few hours before TMZ shocked the world with headlines of Michael Jackson's death. And you thought Ronald Reagan had it tough in 2004 when Ray Charles died 5 days later. Or when Princess Diana died in 1997 and Mother Teresa kicked the bucket that same week. Wait, are we feeling sorry for dead people? Yes, it appears so.

Brody Jenner vs. Joe Francis – 'Celebrity Deathmatch' couldn't make up a better fight than this under-reported real-life showdown. If you blinked you might have missed out on the awesome August brawl in which the Prince of Malibu allegedly punched the "Girls Gone Wild" creator after he assaulted Jenner's flame Jayde Nicole. Brody claims he was then tased while leaving his own 26^th birthday party on August 28 at Hollywood's Guys and Dolls. He posted the following message on Twitter the following morning: "Joe Francis beat up my lady this morning for no reason! Pulled her to the ground, punched & kicked her..what does that say about him?" Francis had words of his own: "Jenner's public accusations that I punched and kicked his girlfriend are false, outrageous and slanderous... In fact, they are actionable, and I plan to take legal action." The next day the L.A. Times was covered with headlines about some recently deceased guy named Ted Kennedy.

Whoever wrote this story must be from Maars. Stories about Governor Palin were over reported adnauseam. The media dwelled on Governor Palin and her family more than anyn other story. Really, it proves the medial is worshipping at the alter of Obama, their messiah! What a laugh!

Any story having to do with corruption in the Obama administration. ie Van Jones, Obama's cabinet not paying their taxes, Anita Dunn. ACORN!! ...and on and on and on......................

I hope this article was tongue-in-cheek because none of the stories (those that got the publicity and those that didn't) were worth the time and effort spent on them. Somebody dies, write and article and move on. Somebody famous dies write and article, run it an extra day and move on. Somebody does something other than die, write and article and move on. sorry, the premise of this article is soooo wrong. i wish everyone would stop talking about the palins. farrah fawcett, a). wasn't a great actress, b). wasn't a great icon c). that silly hardo made her look worse. and d) im a peggy lipton fan..farrah wasn't even half a good looking as the pegs, or half as iconic for the times. beside all that, the story of her death was covered A LOT. slumdog millionare was an overrated movie, and americans still dont care about foreigners..

finally, its really dumb to say ANY tabloid style story isn't covered enough. the media does overkill on all tabloid pieces.

Is the article a joke? How on earth are any of these headlines the most under-reported stories of the year?! Who honestly cares about Kevin Federline or the personal life of Sarah Palin's daughter? And your saying there isn't ENOUGH coverage on the guy who created girls gone wild when honestly i believe 10 seconds of hearing about this guy is more than enough. Are you seriously saying that ANY of these "5 Most Under-Reported Stores" are more important than the coverage of our countries political and economic state, and even the fact that there genocide going on right now in Darfur?! Open up your eyes and see that there are so many extraordinary events taking place right now in which so many people's well-beings are actually being affected.

Excuse me? Kevin Federline? Jay Leno and other late night show hosts haven't told a joke about him since... last year. Meanwhile, it was discovered that men and boys who make football teams are prone to early dementia and early Alzheimer's from all the concussions they suffer. It is NEVER mentioned in any sports report. And while we're at it, the biggest news about the global conference on the warming planet in Copenhagen, wasn't what they said or voted, it was about how they EACH had to have their OWN PRIVATE Limousine at the airport, leaving Denmark 1200 Limos short. You might think they could like, carpool from the airport? Reminds us of the automitive execs each taking their own private plane to Washington when begging for bailout money.

Yeah, no story mentioned anywhere was really very important. The thing that bugged me the most was when mj died it was on every "news" channel 24/7, 7 days a week, while there was a "serial killer" running around in south carolina I believe.
