'Young and the Restless' Star Michelle Stafford a New Mom

With the help of a surrogate, soap star Michelle Stafford has become a mom. The 'Young and the Restless' star welcomed daughter Natalia Scout Lee on Monday, her rep tells PEOPLE.

"She is healthy, gorgeous, and amazing -- Michelle is out of her mind happy," the statement says of Natalia, who weighed 8 lbs, 3 oz.

Stafford, 44, had been trying for three years to start a family and announced in September she was turning to a surrogate for her first child.

The two-time Daytime Emmy winner has been a 'Restless' castmember for 13 of the past 16 years. She has also appeared in episodes of 'Judging Amy,' 'Frasier' and 'JAG.'

Old!!!!Are you kidding me? Michelle is drop dead gorgeous and built!!!I think she is awesome. My youngest son just turned 25 and i just turned 62! I enjoy all my 4 kids and 12 grandangels! Michell...you go girl..and enjoy that sweet baby. I'm a huge fan and wish you both all the best..Don't let anyone rain on your parade!

I'm with Lea, this lady is way too old to care for this child. And to make matters worse, rich folks try to play God and make babies like her. Weird thing is, sick people are congratulating her for doing this. People when you hit you're sixties your old, period. Don't kid yourself in telling yourself your young, your not! A next door neighbor of mine who was 70 was making plans to marry again, he dropped dead of a heart attack. Days before his wedding.

you & Lea are idiots. go back to the 50s or learn to adapt to the times. we live longer, therefore, we can have children later. what's to say that a 25 year old doesn't get sick & die leaving a baby behind...no one knows what will happen. age doesn't matter, its your health that matters!

I think that if God has not blessed you with a child a surrogate is not the answer. Maybe if she were that determined to be a mother she would adopt a child that could use a good home. I dunno, Hollywood types seem to think that everything has to be perfect. And yes, I think she's too old for a newborn.

People Please, life is about happiness, not AGE, if you don't feel old then chance's are you won't act old. I'm 48 and I can run circles around my 3 grand children, and feel just as young as I want. take care of yourself and your self will take care of you. Live life, not judge life. you can have a baby at the age of 19 and die of a heart attack.
