We teamed up with Access Hollywood to ask readers what -- with all of the clashing information over the past few days -- they thought was the biggest factor in the death of the actress: eating disorder complications, overuse of prescription drugs, illegal drug use, a pre-existing heart condition or all of the above. After over 55,000 votes were cast, 41 percent believe it as a combination of all of those factors. Those voters who focused on one factor thought that an eating disorder played the biggest part in Murphy's death.

To make a multiple choice guessing game, for uninformed laypeople, from a woman's death is morally repugnant. I will no longer be linking to PopEater, through AOL, for entertainment news because this article is the epitome of poor taste.

I feel very Sad for Brittany's family and friends. Also sad for those of us who really appreciated her talent and sense of humor. I've seen everyone of her movies and the one thing that sticks out is from Clueless "Rollen with the Homies" at the party when she got hit in the head with a shoe. How a kid from Brooklyn fit in with girls from the Valley. She was a talent and will be missed.
I pray the media leaves her Mother and the rest her family alone and leaves her in Peace. It's sad enough we lost someone so talent and pretty so young, he whole life is her business not ours and we, the public should respect that.
REST IN THE ARMS OF ANGELS BRITTNEY, YOU DESERVE IT.

I saw Brittany in "Little Black Book" and "Uptown Girls." I also had seen "Girl, Interupted," many years ago but wouldn't have known that she was in it.
I liked her acting and was really bummed out to hear of her passing and at such a young age!
My thoughts are with her family and friends.
The movie world will also miss a fine actress and that's all that needs to be said. This is a very sad loss for many.

I don't believe any of the crap that I am reading. This girl was either murdered or allowed to deteriorate to the point of dying. Someone has gotta pay! She was not an excellent actress, but she was getting there. She just wasn't given the chance to prove her worthiness! Someone didn't do their job!!!!

I just saw her on the movie with Ashton Kutcher called Just Married. She was as good as any actress I have seen. She was very talented and would of done many more movies worth watching. Another good one gone. Very sad.

how many more talented people will we have to lose before we start holding these a-hole doctors acountable. We need a nation wide data base for prescription drugs. and doctor need to start being a little more responsible with their pateints care. We put our trust in them and they OD us. What can we do to better the system so we don't lose any more lives to these irresponsible doctoers that just prescibe medicine like candy. We are only hearing about actors dying but how many people out there have lose family member for these same reasons. It all goes back to the doctors. It's time we do something about this before you or your friend or a family member dies from these heartless doctor who just want to bank on your money. Keep in mind tho not all doctor are like this but their are more than less and more within the movie stars circle. We miss all the wonderful actors and actress that have pass aways from this senceless ask of doctors and its time someone do something about this before we loose another one. So close to Christmas is not the time to loose someone you love. We will you Brittany. God be with you and your family. Peace to all

I am a mother, wife, daughter, sister and I have a doctor malpractice issue that will never go away, Lupus and a few other illnesses that took a very busy, active woman down to someone who must take several medications (all from the same doctor and pharmacy) in order to just get up in the morning. Out of all of the just famous people there have been a small, very small amount that drugs contributed to their death yet we still blame the doctors. Remember, there are truly many, many people like me who absolutely must take several medications (which are monitored at my request by me, my husband, my doctor and pharmacist) in order to live. People, can't we just be mindful of the terrible loss of a human being and stop jumping to conclusions that everyone that is taking prescription medication in order to live and function are junkies and that is the cause (or may be one day the potential cause) of their deaths. I've never seen so many judges without degrees in my life! God please bless this family in their time of need with the peace and love that they need instead of all these suppositions that are being made by people who know nothing about Brittany or anyone else for that matter who has passed in this manner or any other and please remember the thousands of us who are in the same situation.
