2009 Made Country Cutie Taylor Swift a Star

Who was the breakout star of 2009? According to PopEater's audience, it was Taylor Swift.

The country singer catapulted to fame this year, thanks in part to Kanye West grabbing her mic at the VMAs when she won for best female video.

Forty-two percent of over 58K voters chose Swift while 29 percent thought Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle deserved the honor. In third, Lady Gaga with 25 percent of the vote.

I thought Taylor Swift was big in '07,after "our song" ,but now she is HUGE, I wish her and her band good luck and a great 2010 !

People that don't "get" Taylor don't get that the days of repetitive bump and grind manufactured are falling like a bag of wet turds before a young lady who is truly what she appears to be: articulate, beautiful and brilliant. Her rise started with young girls finding their own voices put to music, and lit a fire that has young men falling in love with her everywhere. (There are at least three love songs to her out there,and they'll be more) Her producer says she's "So good she makes everybody around her look like a genius" and she's been number one this year in 21 countries. The uglyness of hip-hop chest pounding, bragging and thuggery a la Kanye West slides off her beautiful long legged self, and is consigned to the cesspool of history. That's it.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who realizes that Yaylor Swift CAN'T sing her way out of a peper bag. She's cute & talented in some ways but singing definitely isn't one of them. For her to beat the likes of George Strait & Keith Urban among others, for entertainer of the year is just blasphemy. Goes to show the power of the tween girls. I'm sure they're the reason Taylor has gotten where she is. It's really a damn shame that people with real talent are being left out of the awards they deserve for their hard work & true talent. She's just as shocked as the rest of us are everytime she wins an award. Kanye West had the balls to say what the rest of us were thinking. It might not have been the right time or place but he was just reacting to the shock of it all!

Okay all of you negative people out there shut it! Just because she isn't up there belting out every note doesn't mean she can't sing! This girl is a genuine talent and believe me because I have seen her twice in concert this year! She is an honest, talented, beautiful, and kind artist. Taylor writes all of her own songs instead of relying on other people to write her a hit song! She isn't out there throwing her junk around on stage and wait for it she sings live! I hate everyone saying she can't sing! Watch her episodes of Crossroads with Def Leppard because that may make you change your tune! Sure she has her moments, but she was touring non stop this year and that puts strain on anyone!
Also she was selling millions of albums before the whole Kanye West incident!

Taylor Swift deserves all the credit...not only is she beautiful, she is talented, classy and I love her voice. She is a breath of fresh air. Who else sells out Madison Square Garden in one (1) minute! She's all I listen to these days. Keep it up, Taylor. Love You!

Not much for internet bashing however this is worthy! Nothing against Taylor Swift but the bottom line is she Can't sing. She's like average Kareokee. Encouraging that she has so many young fans,discouraging if this is the direction Country music is going.
