Sheen, Mueller Could Lose Twin Boys

After Charlie Sheen allegedly threatened to kill his 32-year old wife of three years on Dec. 25 with a four-inch switchblade, the couple are being investigated by Los Angeles County's Department of Children and Family Services and could potentially have their nine-month-old twin boys, Max and Bob, taken away from them temporarily, a DCFS insider tells HollywoodLife. "When Charlie and his family step off the plane in California, they'll be greeted by social workers," the source says, explaining that both parents will be closely monitored, even drug tested three-to-five times a week.

On Christmas morning, Sheen was taken into police custody on suspicion of assaulting Brooke Mueller. The actor hasn't been charged and was released Friday after posting an $8,500 bond. Prosecutors will determine whether to file charges. DCFS was made aware of the situation immediately by Colorado law enforcement and has started an investigation of the Sheen family situation, the source told HollywoodLife.

Because of its high-profile nature, the Sheen case is being handled by DCFS' "Case Sensitive Unit," which means two social workers have been assigned to investigate, rather than the usual one. "They'll have a primary and a secondary social worker on this case," the insider says. "The primary social worker will report and the secondary is only there for back-up."

Although Sheen's charges in Colorado won't be prosecuted in court until February, the DCFS case will go to court as soon as possible.

"Most likely a third party will [move in] with the family," the source says. "It could be a grandmother, mother, sister, anyone with a clean record that is cleared by the court."

Because of Sheen's history of domestic violence and substance abuse and Mueller's reported battle with alcohol and drugs, a court could go as far as determining that both are unfit as parents, and the children might be temporarily placed with another guardian, the source says.

Firstly, when women sign pre-nups, it is at the man's request. Typicaly, women are not the ones to set the pre-nup terms. Frankly, I think you doom your marriage by the sheer acknowledgement that you don't expect it to workout. Secondly, regardless of a pre-nup, there will always be those who say these women are gold-diggers. Certainly, there is a fair share of women who want the prestige of their husband's name and access to the lifestyle it affords. Personally, I would never date a celebrity. I think the ability to have a normal relationship is nearly impossible. It must be terribly hard wondering if the emotions your spouse is exhibiting are real or just performance. That coupled with women throwing themselves at celebrities must make it awfully hard for a truthful and meaningful relationship. Finally, I think life is too short to live it under the lens of the media and general public. My privacy and peace could not be bought nor would it be up for sale.

This is not about money or Brooke marrying him for money. It's about two people who need to grow up for heavens sake. They need rehab and parenting classes and how to be a grown up classes. Charlie for God sakes grow up will ya? You're the father of two innocent babies and a highly successful actor and a cute guy. If you can't get along with your wife, get a divorce but don't fight with her anymore and get yourself into rehab immediately. I love the TV series Two and a Half Men. Great cast and hillarious dialog. Straighten out and fly right, OK Charlie? We all love you.

I am confused as to why two social workers are being assigned to this case. Normally, one is assigned. Why should this case get special treatment. There is a lack of enough workers as is and many other children aren't getting the attention they need as a result. Charlie Sheen has always been a partying low life drinker. He should not be married and without a doubt should never father children, until and unless he grows up. If they both are unfit, then these kids need someone in the family who is fit to take over for now or until one of them gets their act together. The kids are the most important thing to consider. Hopefully, maybe both or one of them will wake up and shape up and be a decent parent to these two boys. Kids don't deserve to have parents who are immature drunks....

Hope Charlie doesnt lose his kids. His ex Denise is about as looney as his current wife.She should not have full custody at all. My God if shes depending on her acting or anything she will need that child support!!! his current wife could not even answer the 911 dispatchers questions or maybe she had to think about the answers.
