Where the Celebs Will Be on New Year's Eve

How will you ring in 2010? A little champagne, some dancing, hopefully a smooch at midnight? Your favorite bold-faced names will be doing the same -- just with more expensive champagne and a lockdown on that kiss if the paparazzi are around. PopEater takes a look at where the beautiful people will be welcoming in the New Year.

In Miami:

South Beach is always one of the hippest New Years destinations for folks from the frigid north who want to soak up some sun while they soak up their booze. Singer Macy Gray will be performing with a 12-piece orchestra (classy!) at the Sunset Lounge at one of SoBe's newest properties, The Mondrian Hotel, while rapper Common rings it at the Florida Room at the Delano Hotel. '90210' hottie Annalynne McCord will join Kid Cudi and John Legend at the W South Beach. At Louis Bar-Lounge, the cool kids of LA Riots will take over the turntables, creating a raucous New Years Eve for hipsters and uptown girls alike. Hip-hop phenom Drake will give a live performance at Cameo on Washington Avenue and 'Gossip Girl' Leighton Meester will dazzle at the opening of Klutch. Of course, there are the (up to $25,000) tickets everyone is dying to get, Lady Gaga performing at the Fontainebleau with opening performance by Jason Derulo.

Bless the brave souls who battle the freezing temps, slush-filled streets and severe shortage of cabs to stay in NYC for New Years. Obviously all of the action will be in Times Square, where newlywed and former 'Bachelorette' Melissa Rycroft will join host Ryan Seacrest for ABC's 'Rockin' New Years Eve.' Jennifer Lopez is expected to perform a seven-minute medley for the crowd, but most of the televised performances are either pre-taped or sent in from a West Coast feed. It makes sense. It's cold in New York, and celebs like to stay warm!

For those who can't stand the cold, guests at the Boom Boom Room -- the penthouse bar at Andre Balazs' Standard Hotel -- will enjoy the musical stylings of Courtney Love (Isn't someone responsible for keeping her away from places like this?). For the reality fans out there, Danielle Staub will be hosting a lush party at NYC's famous China Club.

In Vegas:

It almost doesn't matter that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas since all the fun parties are hosted by newbie (or expecting) parents who have to get home to relieve the sitter right after midnight. Still, the celeb power in Sin City is sky high this year and shouldn't be missed. Robin Thicke will be crooning at The Bank nightclub at the Bellagio, Pete Wentz will be hosting Jet nightclub's RockStar New Year's Eve (sans lovey Ashlee Simpson, who has to stay in NYC for her 'Chicago' run) and Christina Aguilera will be down the strip at Tao and Nicole Richie will be at The Venetian.

Hopefully Playboy bunny Holly Madison and Jermaine Dupri -- who don't have wee ones at home -- will cause some trouble at Prive Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood.
