Kate Gosselin's Got a New Dating Show?

Kate Gosselin's first stab at reality didn't end up smelling like roses (more like a bad scented candle that you can't re-gift), so I'm left scratching my head with word that the original TV octo-mom may be looking for love via reality television. That's right ... a Kate Gosselin reality dating show. Oh, 2010, we don't know whether to love or hate you! All that, plus how 'Nine' is the musical grim reaper and my New Year's resolutions after the jump!

Kate Gosselin's Octo-Dating Show

Oh no, say it ain't so. Sources tell me the newly-single Kate Gosselin is in discussions to star in a new reality show -- this time focusing on finding new (and hopefully snipped) love! "Love her or hate her, people are fascinated by Kate," a TV executive tells me. "she has a lot of mouths to feed and Kate looking for love will certainly put bread on the table."

But before you return your TV to Best Buy, take note that the idea hasn't been greenlighted yet. "It's still in the development stage," says one insider -- and let's hope it stays there. Kate, we all want you to find love, but this time around, maybe keep the cameras out of it.

Also, may we suggest some titles? 'Date Kate!' or perhaps 'Who Wants to Marry an Octo-Mom?' ... no, we've got it: 'Oh,Give Me a Break!' Yeah, that one sings!

'Nine' = the Demise of Movie Musicals?

Speaking of singing -- after the disastrous debut of the movie musical 'Nine,' studio execs tell me it could be the final nail in the coffin of the genre. "Hollywood is scared of musicals. Even Disney abandoned the singing formula for a long time before they made under-performing 'Princess and the Frog,'" a fancy producer tells me.

That's is just too bad. I love 'The Sound of Music,' 'Chicago' and 'Fiddler on the Roof.'

"Every producer is looking at 'Nine' and wondering why it bombed with that cast. The conclusion they have all come to is musical don't sell tickets," the producer says.

Silly fools. It's not musicals that we don't like -- it's bad films.

New Year's Resolutions

I promise to not mention Heidi or Spencer (who is apparently Twittering about me ... thanks, Spency!) in my column for an entire year. Really, does anybody really care about what Kate Gosselin is doing? Especially who her future "dates" will be, and how she chooses them? C'mon folks, maybe you are living your lives vicariously through Kate's. Just remember, she does have eight (count 'em) children. The main focus should be are they being raised properly.

So sick of her!! If you will note, she is still hanging on to the so called "bodyguard" - why does SHE need a bodyguard? I think there is a better name for him - let's see - male concubine, that would work! How many men would have just wilted and "took it" if their wife treated them as Kate did Jon.
On the other hand, how many wives would treat their husbands as she did.

I'm with Nan on this. I wish her well and the best for her kids too. I think she has potential and talent. People really are down on working mothers. Sure she traveled, etc.. it was all to promote the show and her books and put FOOD ON THE TABLE!!! Her ex on the other hand trapsed around wearing flip flops and smoking. Look at the size of him. He may have despised her but sure liked what she cooked!

It seems to me that the only people who are really interested in Kate is TV producers. If they would check on polls with the public saying they are done with both Kate and Jon they wouldn;t waste their time.

You are so right. The media shoves her down our throats. I clicked on this story to see what horrors might be inflicted on me next. If they'd just stop doing stories about her(and that stupid Jon) and stop trying to shove her on tv maybe...just maybe...she'll go the hell away.

Is Kate getting hard up for attention? How about her forgetting about the public and dating and concentrating on raising her kids. Or has she turned them over to nannies and could care less.
If she doesn't realize it, they are still her responsibility.
The public is still fascinated by Kate? I got news for you, the public is sick of Kate and her antics and want her gone.

Well I'm not sick of Kate. Jon on the other hand is sickening and still begging for attention. Really - did anyone believe about that apartment break in prank? I honestly hope that Kate gets a deal where she doesn't have to split her money with Jon or pay him anything for his living expenses or bimbos. I've seen Kate on shows like the view and she is a far better television personality than him.

Even tough I can change channels, I still will avoid anything, with Kate, Octomom, any reality show ( its so over for me ) like the pest. Give me a show that is funny, or dramatic, nothing with those stupid greedy people anymore. Let them get a real job.

I agree with you., Reality tv is not real., It's just a bunch of idiots who want fame and no work,, I don't waste my time watching it.., The reason they don't put good dramas on is it would cost them more. Also they would have to find a good writer and pay them. My question is,m she had kids, so why the fertility drugs?
