'Tedious and Boring' Biography Gets Beatty All Wrong ... Says Beatty

A new, "authorized" biography outlining the purported bedroom achievements of Warren Beatty has been denounced by the actor as inaccurate - and very unauthorized. According to the New York Post, author Peter Biskind writes that Beatty has had sex with "12,775 women, give or take, a figure that does not include daytime quickies, drive-bys, casual gropings, stolen kisses and so on." In a statement to the Huffington Post, Beatty's attorney says the book was never sanctioned by the 72-year-old star.

"Mr. Biskind's tedious and boring book on Mr. Beatty was not authorized by Mr. Beatty and should not be published as an authorized biography," writes the attorney, Bertram Fields. "It contains many false assertions and purportedly quotes Mr. Beatty as saying things he never said. Other media should not repeat things from the book on the assumption that they are true or that the book is an authorized biography."

The biography claims that Beatty lost his virginity when he was almost 20, and made up for lost time with nearly every actress in Hollywood. Among his alleged bed partners were Joan Collins, Leslie Caron, Isabelle Adjani, Julie Christie, Diane Keaton,and Jane Fonda. According to the book, Fonda told Biskind that she originally thought Beatty was gay, but their love affair changed her mind.

"Oh, my God. We kissed until we had practically eaten each other's heads off," Biskind claims he was told by Beatty.

Let's see...Since he started at 20, and supposing he was totally active till 70, he spent 18,262.5 days (fifty years, times 365.25 days). Now, 12,775 women (NOT counting "quickies"!) result in a "new" affair every 1.43 days. Mercy, please!

Warren lost his virginity at age 20. He is now 72. That means he had about 50 years to amass his record assault on womanhood. Dividing 50 into about 12,000 works out to only 250 per year approximately.

It is not an impossible feat. Difficult, but not impossible. He is also very politically involved and he acts in movies. Warren has been a very, very busy man considering all he had to do.

Many of the ladies on his list are outstanding . . .and most desirable. It seems unlikely that Warren is or was gay. When did Warren have time to read a newspaper or book?

Picky, picky. Does Warren remember the details of all 12,775 encounters at age 72? I'll bet each of those women do. He certainly was a gorgeous, sexy young man, especially in McCabe and Mrs. Miller, and it's easy to understand why women adored him. But he can't rewrite history now that he's a respectable married man and father.

Oh, no! Tom Cruise's ambulance-chaser Bert "Billable Hours" Fields has to wave his tiny fists in impotent rage - instead of threatening to file nuisance lawsuits whenever anyone even mention's Cruise's sexual orientation.

It's easy to successfully sue The National Enquirer, but Peter Biskind is not a sleazy, unauthorized celebrity biographer but a respected journalist who I believe years ago edited a cerebral film magazine (Premiere?) whose title I no longer remember.

And Biskind's publisher's libel attorney never would allowed the Beatty bio to be marketed as authorized if Beatty hadn't originally agreed to be interviewed for the book. When Beatty didn't like what Biskind truthfully reported, he changed his mind, in a Geffenesque way, and decided the bio hadn't been authorized after al.

So Baby Bertie can scream and jump up and down and hold his breath until he faints, but he won't even threaten to sue Biskind.
