Kathy Griffin Banned From CNN

Hopefully Kathy Griffin's New Year's resolution was to be on CNN less, because the foul-mouthed comedienne has lost her visitor's pass after dropping the f-bomb on this year's show. Kathy Griffin Banned From CNN

Following her very controversial F-bomb-dropping New Year's Eve hosting gig, CNN executives have decided Kathy Griffin will NOT be getting a 2011 invite. "She was a total embarrassment to the network that calls themselves 'The Most Trusted Name in News.' Even Anderson (Cooper, her co-host) thinks it's time to say goodbye to Kathy," a CNN insider tells me.

Not only did the potty-mouthed redhead drop the F bomb on live TV, she also made not-so-funny jokes about needing a "bump" of cocaine and asked Cooper if he pleasured himself while looking in the mirror. As sexy as the Silver Fox is ... that's just too much, Kathy.

Even worse than the comedienne's desperate need to shock was the fact that the show was a ratings bomb, as it fell far behind the family-friendly 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve' on ABC.

Still, CNN publicist Shimrit Sheetrit tells me: "No decisions have been made yet regarding next year's show."

CNN, I find it hard to believe that you have not yet made a decision regarding someone who drops the F bombs live on your network!!!

Either way, it's nice to see Dick Clark on top like the classy fella he is.

Rosie's New Soul Mate

Although their romance is still in its early stages, friends of Rosie O'Donnell tell me the former 'View' host -- who revealed in November that she and partner Kelly Carpenter had been separated for two years -- is happier than ever now that she's with Tracy Kachtick-Anders.

"Rosie has a huge smile on her face and is saying she has met her soul mate. That love is better the second time around as she can be honest from day one about her relationship rather than hide it behind closed doors," a friend tells me. "Tracy is perfect for Rosie. She has six kids of her own and couldn't care less about how rich and powerful Rosie is. All she wants from Rosie is love."

I'm happy for you, Rosie. Best of luck.

'Harry Potter' Surprise

I spent New Year's Day with the ever-fabulous two-time Tony Award winner Christine Ebersole at her open house in New Jersey. It was filled with Broadway singers (Michael Feinstein) producers (Randall Wreghitt) cute songwriters (Bruce Sussman) and lawyers (yuk.)

But my favorite was ... Alan Rickman, aka Professor Serverus Snape from the 'Harry Potter' films. Children from the neighborhood were two-deep looking through Christine's front window trying to get a glimpse of the mysterious Professor, and when they did, they couldn't have been more surprised. Snape was a doll. The only person at the party with more magic than Rickman was Ebersole herself!

I agree with you both Angelina & Vicky. I like Anderson Cooper but couldn't bring myself to watch because Kathy was hosting the show with him AGAIN this year. Didn't something similar happen last year that had CNN execs "outraged"!? I was surprised that she was on again with him this year.

One can get sick when one gets or sees too much of the same, like you loving to see yourself in print, lol. mean, did you buy thisa site so you can keep out people of different opinions? Sad that people go through all kinds of attention getters in order to get attention. Are you possibly related to balloon boy?

Anderson Cooper is very good news man. But put Kathy
out to pasture! I turn the channel off, could not
believe what I was hearing. Mouth does not make a show good. I know more the just me turn to another channel. CNN nasty is not what should be seen on you network. Get it together CNN or you will lose followers.

I am appalled that they would put her on there and I let my kids stay up to watch the ball drop....What a disappointment that was. I am not sure I will ever watch them again on New Years. What poor taste for ringing in the New Year. Kathy needs to retire and stay home!

I never did think Kathy Griffin should have been on CNN - she is nothing but trash - why in the world would CNN ever do such as thing as put Kathy with Anderson Cooper? I believe this match has in fact hurt Anderson's validity. I personnally would not watch any channel with Kathy Griffin on it. I was disappointed last year when she co-hosted new years with him - I turned the station and refused to watch it this year when I heard she was going to be on it. Anderson deserves MUCH better than Kathy. Why would CNN want to taint their own network? Sounds like suicide to me.

PUH-lease! CNN knows exactly what they're going to get when they hire Kathy Griffin. And I say they scored big, because now people are talking about them and wondering what's going to happen next year. They could drag this out all year if they wanted and get people watching just to find out if she'll be back next year or not.

there you go pam. you got the right idea. i believe that they did this and then made a big deal about it because they wanted to basically test the waters. i say she is hilarious!!! i love her humor, the things she is willing to take chances and say is unbelieveable. i didnt watch but i sure wish i did. cnn spells boring to me unless there is some breaking news but this i would have watched.

Right on Pam. It's CABLE for God's sake. She didn't say anything different than most 5th graders say on a daily basis. Had someone like Jay Leno or Terry Bradshaw or Meridith Viera dropped that word, all we would have heard was OOOPS and a snicker. I think all the hype about Kathy Griffin is a joke. I could barely hear her say the F word. I had to replay it over 3 times to understand what she said. She's no different than George Lopez or Wanda Sykes.
