Kathy Griffin Banned From CNN

Hopefully Kathy Griffin's New Year's resolution was to be on CNN less, because the foul-mouthed comedienne has lost her visitor's pass after dropping the f-bomb on this year's show. Sorry Kathy, but we don't think Fox News will be knocking down your door now that you're available! More on Kathy's banning, plus Rosie O'Donnell's new love and more after the jump!

Kathy Griffin Banned From CNN

Following her very controversial F-bomb-dropping New Year's Eve hosting gig, CNN executives have decided Kathy Griffin will NOT be getting a 2011 invite. "She was a total embarrassment to the network that calls themselves 'The Most Trusted Name in News.' Even Anderson (Cooper, her co-host) thinks it's time to say goodbye to Kathy," a CNN insider tells me.

Not only did the potty-mouthed redhead drop the F bomb on live TV, she also made not-so-funny jokes about needing a "bump" of cocaine and asked Cooper if he pleasured himself while looking in the mirror. As sexy as the Silver Fox is ... that's just too much, Kathy.

Even worse than the comedienne's desperate need to shock was the fact that the show was a ratings bomb, as it fell far behind the family-friendly 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve' on ABC.

Still, CNN publicist Shimrit Sheetrit tells me: "No decisions have been made yet regarding next year's show."

CNN, I find it hard to believe that you have not yet made a decision regarding someone who drops the F bombs live on your network!!!

Either way, it's nice to see Dick Clark on top like the classy fella he is.

Rosie's New Soul Mate

Although their romance is still in its early stages, friends of Rosie O'Donnell tell me the former 'View' host -- who revealed in November that she and partner Kelly Carpenter had been separated for two years -- is happier than ever now that she's with Tracy Kachtick-Anders.

"Rosie has a huge smile on her face and is saying she has met her soul mate. That love is better the second time around as she can be honest from day one about her relationship rather than hide it behind closed doors," a friend tells me. "Tracy is perfect for Rosie. She has six kids of her own and couldn't care less about how rich and powerful Rosie is. All she wants from Rosie is love."

I'm happy for you, Rosie. Best of luck.

'Harry Potter' Surprise

I spent New Year's Day with the ever-fabulous two-time Tony Award winner Christine Ebersole at her open house in New Jersey. It was filled with Broadway singers (Michael Feinstein) producers (Randall Wreghitt) cute songwriters (Bruce Sussman) and lawyers (yuk.)

But my favorite was ... Alan Rickman, aka Professor Serverus Snape from the 'Harry Potter' films. Children from the neighborhood were two-deep looking through Christine's front window trying to get a glimpse of the mysterious Professor, and when they did, they couldn't have been more surprised. Snape was a doll. The only person at the party with more magic than Rickman was Ebersole herself!

Conan is a bully. Picking on people, being mean and cruel is not funny it is bullying. No wonder kids in school are so mean ....it is crap like this that teaches them to be.

Cathy Griffin follows in the footsteps of such greats as Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, Richard Pryor and Ron White, among others. Somebody sh*t in CNN's pants. Nobody knows who made the final decision on hiring Griffin, but he was eating Corn!

I never liked Kathy or Rosie. They are both lound and obnoxious. Both have UGLY attitudes. I stopped watching The View when Rosie was on and have never turned that show back on my TV. I will never watch any show with either of those women on it.

She did the same think last year...turned to the crowd and shouted obsenities at them live on camera. What did CNN expect? I think they wanted this and the news of firing Kathy is just a lame publicity stunt. She will be back as Liberal extremists now seem to get off on trashing people's holidays.

Who do you think owns the networks that hire people like this anyway, dimwit? You think the corporations who make all this possible are run by "liberals"? How do you function in daily life, anyhow?

If you listen closely, you will not hear the dreaded "F" word. She mispronounces Falcon, she does not use the other word. But, with the lead-in being that she said the other word, people will hear it, even though she didn't say it. Get your minds out of the gutter, people.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! SHE IS NOT A TODDLER! I THINK I WOULD KNOW IF I SAID THE "F" WORD, ESPECIALLY IF I WAS THIS CRUDE, IGNORANT, POOR EXCUSE OF A WOMAN. SHE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT SHE WAS SAYING. HER BEST CAREER PATH WOULD BE TO CREATE A DVD, ON HOW NOT TO ACT IN PUBLIC.

I think the whole thing was hilarious. I love Kathy Griffin because I believe her to be entertaining. Not everyone agrees with me and I'm ok with that. Now CNN, like most people, have Google at their fingertips. Plus, I'm sure they do research on the people they hire. Hiring Kathy Griffin was a calculated risk. They knew what they got themselves into after seeing her shows, her standups and her previous years being on the show. Additionally, she loves the negative publicity. The more we hate her, the more she loves us. She has been banned from so many shows (The View, Oprah, Ellen, the Emmy's, etc) it's nothing new to her. She feeds on this stuff and I find it funny that you all think that the negative press she's going to get over THIS fiasco is finally going to put her in her place. It didn't happen to Howard Stern, nor did it happen to Chris Rock or Wanda Sykes or Rush Limbaugh or Robin Williams or Anne Coulter or Bill Mahr or Britney Spears or Madonna ... (need I go on?). Great going America - you've won yourself yet another thorn in the side that gets pricklier by each outrage :)

I thought CNN had too much class to invite such a vile person on. Anderson cooper looked annoyed with many of her remarks. I don't believe she can speak without being vile and insulting.
Dirty mouth is her claim to fame. I am an avid fan of CNN and that evening I had to question why
they would choose her to cohost. I changed the channel and was glad I did.
