Kate Gosselin Debuts New Hair Extensions

Is that you, Kate Gosselin? The reality star mom ditched the hair that made her famous for a new, longer 'do. Fresh off her Dec. 18 divorce from hubby Jon Gosselin, Kate has finally said goodbye to her signature short, asymmetrical hairstyle. "It's good to have hair again," Kate tells PEOPLE in the new issue out Friday. "I feel like this is a fresh start, a fresh me, a fresh life."

On her divorce from Jon: "I got phone calls from my friends congratulating me. But I felt like, 'You're congratulating me on a failed marriage?' I knew what they were getting at, because I am starting over and cutting ties from something that was really dragging me down, but it was a rough day. I wasn't prepared for the intensity of the emotion involved."

New love: "I'm not going to rule it out... But right now it's not my focus. Being alone at the end of every day, I'm not liking that -- it's been a long time, and I feel that loneliness. But I'm not going to go running in the direction of finding someone."

Her kids in counseling: "I've got to get my kids back on track, my career back on track and my family back on track... They start counseling in the next two weeks. I'm definitely seeing signs that it's a major need at this point."

On her debt: "I have a lot of debt to crawl out of. Debt that shouldn't be there. I have a lot of anger about that. But it's nothing that good, hard work won't fix."

All the WHITE women in Hollywood look the same? Try all the (i'll say it the nice way) colored women. Same color skin, eyes, hair and same hair texture. So I don't think you should be saying all WHITE women look the same. Asians too. They all look the same. At least white people have variety in their looks. Brown, blonde or red hair. Blue, green, brown or hazel eyes.

this woman is a piece of work. she is the most narcissstic person i have met in a long time. Lie-every word out of her mouth is not truthful. her career back on track...being a nurse. bills-well, if i lived in a 1.5 mil home -have 2 nannies and 2 cars-a kitchen just renovated I d have bills too.

While Kate's previous short 'do' indeed became synonymous with her name and persona, I think this a nice change for her.

Since all the 'He said-She said' nonsensical drama -- via talk show interviews -- has halted, I am appreciating the low key Kate so much more.

I was always a fan of the show but like everyone else, quickly became disenchanted as things went sour and paparazzi took hold of the reigns.

While -- as an outside observer -- I'm not wild about the idea of Kate continuing her magazine appearances declaring herself 'single and happy' (although, I suppose why shouldn't she be, eh?), I am pleased to see that she is holding her own and looking to a brighter future as a Mom with potential and unlimited possibilities. While in the meantime, Jon seems to remain a perpetual man-child out only for himself.

I hope for peace, productivity, happiness and resolution for them both but mostly for their children.
