Some folks need to learn to read, and/or not write. It was CGM, not Tena, who said Mariah has more #1 hits than the Beatles. That Did not mean CMG thought Mariah was better or not better than Elvis and the Beatles. And she sure isn`t male like the Beatles or Elvis. But she has had a lot of hits. And yes, her music is passe, old style New York Swing Jazz, spiced with modern lingo and rappers sometimes, not very creative, but sounds okay. True of far too many female artists, they change dresses, not musical styles, and don`t play instruments usually. But half of folks like ladies, creative or not. And yes, George as a solo act, and Alabama, as a group, have lots more Country #1s than the Beatles, Mariah, Elvis, etc., have Pop #1s, so, yes, CMG should have mentioned it wasn`t the most on any chart, he was thinking about the Pop chart, though Mariah does well on the soul chart, too. Elvis also had some soul hits, which were hits in the SAME version on the country and pop charts. He had very broad appeal in the US, and never toured outside the US. Others might have had more support here if they had spent all their time here, instead of also touring internationally, but they did what was right for them. As for her drinking, I see no good reason to try to make a virtue of Bush Jr. having been an admitted alcoholic, Keith Whitley drinking so much so fast he drowned in his own vomit, or any other alcoholic indulgence, but Mariah is a grown woman, it is for her to decide how to mess up her life, if that is what she wants to do. As for the guy who brags what he`d do with a married woman, let him take a camera operator with him and try, see what he gets. If she won`t consent, maybe her husband will take the guy. Or maybe her attorney/bodyguards will take him. None of my business how they`d react.
