Russell Brand and Katy PerryThe rumors are true -- Russell Brand and Katy Perry are engaged, a rep for the British comedian confirms to PEOPLE.

Rumors have been spreading around the Internet that Brand proposed while the two were vacationing in India.

Perry even tweeted vague references to the proposal. "So when do I start walking the streets naked singing that Alanis song?" she wrote, seemingly referencing Alanis Morissette's song, 'Thank You' which includes the lyrics, "How about me just enjoying the moment for once" and "Thank you India."

Brand even told British tabloid, The Sun -- "It's true. Much love."
