It's Elvis Presley's birthday, and we here at PopEater are celebrating it the only way we know how to: With a fantastic Blingee to honor The King on what would have been his 75th birthday. While we deal with all sorts of news about pop stars and actors on a daily basis, it's possible that the landscape of the entertainment industry would be different had it not been for Elvis. He turned the world on its head with his hips (and that hair!) ... so, King, we owe you a huge debt of gratitude and thanks. Want your Elvis fix? Spinner's got 75 reasons he rules, AOL TV's got all the Elvis shows and tributes on the tube and Moviefone's got all of The King's finest film moments.

...for my money, it's Jerry Lee Lewis, and if you haven't read Murray Silver's "When Elvis Meets the Dalai Lama," then you haven't read the best book about Elvis and Jerry ever written...

The first album I ever saved my allowance to buy was an Elvis Presley album. As far as I am concerned, he was the best looking man to ever walk God's green earth. And if you have ever heard one of the gospel songs he recorded, you wonder why anyone else ever tries.
