It's Elvis Presley's birthday, and we here at PopEater are celebrating it the only way we know how to: With a fantastic Blingee to honor The King on what would have been his 75th birthday. While we deal with all sorts of news about pop stars and actors on a daily basis, it's possible that the landscape of the entertainment industry would be different had it not been for Elvis. He turned the world on its head with his hips (and that hair!) ... so, King, we owe you a huge debt of gratitude and thanks. Want your Elvis fix? Spinner's got 75 reasons he rules, AOL TV's got all the Elvis shows and tributes on the tube and Moviefone's got all of The King's finest film moments.

First heard about Elvis when I was five, since we lived right down the street from Humes and my late mother was a junior @ Humes when he was a freshman. In her later years, she said she wished she hadnt called him "a punk", when he flirted with her. We later moved to Whitehaven, near Graceland and I had a few of my own personal experiences with the King there; it was a great time to be alive. There was and never will be another Elvis; Happy Birthday King.

Elvis was the best!! I grew up with him..saw him at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in 1969..wow..what a show! Several years later had reservations to see him in High Sierra Casino show room in Lake Tahoe, sadly after I arrived in Tahoe , he was taken to the hospital ill. I'll never forget seeing his concert & remember photo on cover of magazine showing him, Priscilla's & Lisa Marie's. My oldest daughter is a few months difference in age from Lisa Marie. They shared such a resemblance, too!
