Jared the Subway Guy Is Engaged!

Jared Fogle -- the man who famously lost 245 lbs. by eating Subway -- is engaged. He popped the question to his girlfriend of a year, Katie McLaughlin, a teacher, in November.

"She's been so wonderful and caring. She's just been the most supportive woman," Fogle tells PEOPLE in a new interview. "I couldn't ask for more."

The couple plans to exchange vows this summer.

Fogel also admits he gained more than 40 lbs. last year, but is getting back in shape for the wedding."I'm going to look darn good in those wedding pictures!" he says.

"I look at it as a little bit of a hiccup," Fogle says of his recent weight gain, which resulted from "not exercising as much as I should have and not paying attention to what I was eating."

This will be the second marriage for Fogle.
