Those 'Jersey Shore' kids just can't seem to make any friends in the bar scene. In an episode that was set to air in December, cast member Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi took a right hook to the face from Queens gym teacher Brad Ferro - MTV released a statement that read: "After hearing from our viewers, further consulting with experts on the issue of violence, and seeing how the video footage has been taken out of context ... MTV has decided not to air Snooki being physically punched in next week's episode."
MTV has no such compunctions over fairly-matched fist fights, it seems. Check out the video clip of 'Jersey Shore' housemate Ronnie Magro enjoying a lively throwdown with a man who mocked him in an Ocean County bar. The cable network aired the segment - even though Magro was arrested when the fight occurred in September and charged with aggravated assault.
Magro, 24, told PEOPLE that he received a letter saying that the charges have been dismissed. He claimed he spent a few hours in jail, had a mug shot taken and was released on bail. "I definitely felt out of place," he said. "[Jail is] definitely a place I never want to go back to again. Definitely a lesson learned."
However, a senior assistant Ocean County prosecutor tells the New Jersey Star-Ledger that her office is reaching out to the alleged victim. "I guess I have to go back and actually watch the show," she says. "It happened in our county. I guess we have an obligation to see what's going on."
Mike Mohl, chief of detectives with the Ocean County prosecutor's office, says the case is now with prosecutors and is under review for further action.
"I really don't feel bad for the altercations that I did get into in Seaside because I'm really not a person who likes to fight," Magro told PEOPLE. "He was just being a drunk jerk, saw the camera ... [and] I think he chased us down like two blocks or something like that. At that point, you're like, 'What am I gonna do?'"
This show is a continued insult to the Italian American people. The many advocacy organizations for us have tried to have the show cancelled. We will continue in our efforts to blast this show for depicting our culture as buffons and morons.
Anne, I couldn't agree with you more. Now what they should do is send the Housewife's of NJ to the Jersey shore and do a show. That would be even MORE insulting. I think these kids use Olive Oil for suntan lotion..
Anne you keep on doing that. Its because of people and organizations like you that are making the show even more popular. People want to watch and see what all the hubbub is about. Its back firing on any Italian American organization. As a New Jersey girl myself this is what I grew up with all my life and I'm not a kid anymore. This area NY/NJ are densely populated by Italians, probably the largest concentration in the entire country. This is where their ancestors decided to stay when they reached Ellis Island and I thank them for that. Because we do have the best Italian food of anywhere in this country and our buildings which were made by Italian craftsman. We are lucky to have it all !
Anne, Anne, Anne I am 51 BORNED AND RASIED in Toms River NJ. I worked on the Seaside Heights board walk Both Fun town and Casino pier.(the name's back in the late 70's) Once I turned 18 the drinking age. I went to the bars in Seaside called Hollywood, Bamboo bars among others They Italians acted just like the "typical Italians" you are referring to in the show I remember from what we called "you bennies" one guy in his 20's fighting with his girlfriend and pulling her out of the bar buy her hair. HIS NAME WAS VINNIE How I know hiss name she kept screaming Vinnie stop my hair. Now your boys just punch typical for the new age of the crap parents now raise.
There are no words to explain this show. It shows kids out of control drinking along with kids who can't even speak properly. Looks are everything and it seems none have a education higher than highschool. It a embarresment.
shut up people it isnt an insult to italian americans, its no different then any other reality show... its how those people live in that area, they arent acting too much cuz i know plenty of people that really r like that. u think if they were a mix of races it would be different? that area just happens to have alot of italians in it... so what. get a life.
by the way... i am italian american... and i watch the show when theres nothing else on. im not insulted. if they were smart goody 2-shoes in college, they wouldnt have a show cuz it would be boring.
this is the jersey shore..... i married an irishman from bayhead and when he took me to the shore this is exactly how they acted and act,,,, drinking, fighting everynight, spend money as fast as they make it, sterotype is bull crap you are what you are, maybe you should teach them better if you don't want them embarrassing you.
As Italian American Jersey Shore does really make the generation it is depicting look pretty trashy. The guys are pretty hot but, they don't seem to have a brain cell between them. Can someone tell the guy with the mushroom haircut that he has a bad haircut. The girls on the show must really make their parents proud......LOL. It scares me that this is the new generation of leaders and parents. As long as Ronie keeps taking his shirt off guess we will all keep watching....LOL
Well if these are "typical Italians" from Jersey Shore, something is VERY" wrong! My husbands family is Italian and none of those boys have ever acted like these losers. If they had, their Italian dad would have smacked them into yesterday. Most Italians have strong families and would never put up with that kind of behavior. They are particularlly protective of their daughters and would not allow them out acting and looking like whores. This might be typical for that area, but it is not typical for Italian American families. Just shows that that TRASH attracts TRASH. Clean up your act Jersey Shore!!! It's never too late to act like a decent person.
These kids are an embarrassment to Italians, me being one of them. I grew up "old school Italian" more than 40 years ago. My mother spoke fluent Italian and was the first in her family born in this country, with her older siblings born in Italy. Growing up Italian, I can't for the life of me remember any of those I grew up around looking or acting as "greasy" as these kids. "Guido"? According to the dictionary, it means "lower class". And that's how these phonies want to be known? Tells you what these kids know about being REAL Italians. These kids are so far removed from "just got off the boat", they wouldn't know a "true" Italian if they tripped over one.
So before these "actors" hit the shore for the summer, working just a few hours a day for their rent, what was it exactly that they all did for work before they got this gig? So I guess McDonald's, BK's and a few non-Italian pizza/sub shops are now short a few workers???? I'd love to know what 40 hour a week jobs these kids gave up to make the move for the summer.
Italian need to get over this. There are numerous show that depict black people as coons and bufoons. We dont act all crazy about it. We know that represents the people on the show not all blacks. This constant backlash is like they're telling a secrect Italians dont want you to know. Hell, the Real World makes it look like all young white people do is get drunk and scream wooooo hoooo! We all know that is not true! Get a Italians if that doesnt represent you don watch it!!!
I really hate it when people attack just one show ... Look at all the other "reality" shows that they have on TV. Bachelor= A bunch of dolled up chicks going in front of the camera to marry a guy that they are going to know for a few months that doesn't even last once the cameras go off. Real Word= Nothing like the real world because you are taking people from what they are used to and throwing them in a house with people that they do not know and see how they act. All those dumbass dating shows on VH1= again a bunch of chicks like the Bachelor, but trashier and skankier. Seriously Jersey Shore is a tv show for entertainment ... Shut up and change the channel if you don't like it. I am italian and a lot of the people I know do act like that ... and for the italian mom on here ... your kids don't act like that in front of you so they do not get smacked around...when they go out by themselves you never know how they really act. Do you think these kids parents knew how they acted before seeing it on TV?
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos

This is typical of Seaside Heights, not towns further South, except Wildwood. But Wildwood is full of Italians.
