'Scrubs' star Sarah Chalke is a proud mother. The beautiful blond actress gave birth to a baby boy on Christmas Eve and is just letting her fans know now, via PEOPLE. Sneaky, but we applaud taking the personal time.Charlie Rhodes Afifi, who gets his last name from Chalke's fiance Jamie Afifi, was born on December 24th. No other details -- like height, weight, etc -- have been given for baby Charlie, but we're sure we'll see him soon enough.

They announced the pregnancy over the summer in 2009.

Someone needs to get a life!!!
doesn't any one ever get married any more before they start having kids...... just a thought!!

I agree. I dated 4 years, got married bought a house THEN had 2 kids..what the heck.
Good point. The article says they got engaged in 2006. If you are already engaged, then why not get married before having children? If you don't believe in marriage, then don't get engaged. Is there a secret benefit to the child in having parents who aren't sure enough of each other to get married?
If they got married first the taxpayers wouldn't have to pay for the kid. Having the kid first makes them the "poor single mother" in need of state help. They don't have to pay a thing!!!

Do you really think Sarah Chalke would need public assistance..?!!
how GAY, nobody even gets MARRIED before they even have a KID!!!

Not all single parents receive public assistance...in fact, a jority are working at least part time. Stop turning this into a "let's hate on single moms" post. This is meant to discuss Sarah Chalke's new baby.

oops, meant to type "majority"! :-)

I agree. Can't be a poor married mom. Gots to be a poor single mom. Only a Brad Pitt would adopt a single mom's kids.

Hey LupeW, you think Sarah Chalke needs public assistance? You are a dip.

Congratulations on your baby, Sarah Chalke. I am so happy for you and your fiance. I wish the best for all of you. You are one of my favorite actresses. I loved you in Roseanne and Our Mother's Murder. As for everyone dissing her for not being married while having a baby, cut it out. Why does everyone have to rip on unmarried mothers, celebrity or not? Unmarried moms are just as capable of raising their children as married moms are. Being a married mom doesn't make you better or morally superior to an unmarried mom. It doesn't mean an unmarried mom's child will grow up to be morally corrupt. I am sick and tired of people judging unmarried mothers. A majority of them work to provide for their children. They sacrifice just as much as married moms do, so their children will thrive.

Great name congratulations

Someone needs to update that Celeb Babies list. Half of the people they claim are expecting have had their kids already, and Celine Dion is still showing up as expecting when she recently announced that she is NOT expecting.

Congrats to Sara Chalke, but hey, - engaged all that time? GET MARRIED ALREADY. Sorry I am old school. Get married- have kids.

Not all single mothers are on public assistance! I am a single mother of a three yr old, I work AND go to school full time! Who cares if anyone gets married anymore! As long as they are good parents to their child marriage shouldn't matter!!!!!!!!!! So shut the hell up!

Oh and btw I am NOT on public assistance! I pay out of pocket for health insurance for me and my child!
Congrats to Sarah Chalke!
It's kinda hard to say that she's a single mom when she's ENGAGED people! Unmarried, yes, but not single.

Congrats to Sarah...:0)
I've watched lots of rosanne episodes when Ms. Chalk was young and loved her then... and became a big fan of scrubs primarily due to her entertaining and unassumming acting talent. I could be way off on her personality but she appears to me to be a very talented and decent actress who seems to be enjoying fame without all the drama that seems to be the standard in hollywood these days. I wish her and her baby and her best guy warm wishes ...
