'Housewives' Star Tamra Barney Accused of Infidelity

Ready for another 'Real Housewives' star who isn't actually a wife? 'Real Housewives of Orange County' star Tamra Barney's husband of 11 years has filed for divorce, accusing the blonde bombshell of verbal abuse and "acts of disloyalty and infidelity."

In court papers obtained by RadarOnline.com, Simon Barney is seeking to dissolve the marriage based on "irreconcilable differences." He also wants joint custody of their three children. The document was filed Wednesday.

According to Radar, Tamra moved out of the couple's home this week but was apparently shocked to learn of Simon's petition for divorce. They have reportedly been having marital problems for years, and things have only been getting worse since she joined the Bravo cast for season three.

"Simon has simply had enough," a source says. "The show changed her."

Their relationship woes have been show fodder throughout this season and during a recent episode Tamra teared up while talking to her mom about Simon. "I feel like I'm losing my mind right now. It's like I can't eat and I can't sleep ... I don't know what to do ... I don't think I'm the person he wants me to be."

To which her mom responded: "He wants a housewife and you're not just a housewife."

At that, Tamra essentially predicted this week's events: "If it was just me and him, I would leave. There's no question. We're seriously heading towards divorce."

Other 'Real Housewives of Orange County' stars who aren't really housewives are Gretchen Rossi and Jeana Keough, currently in the midst of a divorce.

I find it interesting that Tamra was so quick to make Gretchen look bad after her fiance died. Like Gretchen was this horrible person who was cheating. It was all a deflection so no one saw who SHE (Tamra) really was/is. Tamra and Simon were having financial worries, so she just cheats and says it's headed for divorce? Simon might be uptight, but I think he's got morals, and Tamra obviously didn't share them.

Jen I agree with you, I mean she is obviously not a happy person, and still crying over "daddy". Tamra ought to have shown more respect for her husband in dealing with that obnoxious son of hers. Gretchen has suffered under Tamra's judgment, and downright cruel with getting Gretchen drunk and humiliating her like she did. Gretchen is a refreshing person, who obviously loves life, and Tamra is definitely not happy with herself and I think she would benefit from some serious counseling.

I agree with you Jen for the most part...altho Tamara thought she was above everyone especially Gretchen, her husband did put alot of demand on her to be this perfect wife. He was definitely a control freak & what we saw of Tamara was a very unhappy woman who took her unhappiness out on Gretchen.

You are right Jen, she wasted no time in bad mouthing Gretchen. She called her all kinds of bad things. But she must remember that when you point one finger at someone else, 3 are pointed back at you. That is what we call "the kettle calling the pot" and now she is reaping what she sowed.

According to Tamra on the show, she and Simon are having serious financial difficulties. Tamra has her real estate license and wanted to restart her career due to financial necessity but Simon would no hear of it. Simon was also threatened by Vicki who has her own very successful insurance firm. Successful women are "foreign" to Simon's mind-set and he chooses to try and pigeon hole them into being something they many not wish to be.

I totally agree with the opinion you have of Simon. But Tamara was horrible to Gretchen and I really like that broad. She loves life and has an awesome outlook on things. Fame has gone to Tamaras head and she shouldnt cast stones because Im not sure if she considers herself the Kettle or the Pot.

Tamra is my favorite housewife. I think she is a great Mother and was a good wife to Simon. On the last show, he was telling her what he expected from her and honestly, I felt like he was trying to smother her to death. I could feel myself tensing up and wanting to get away from him. He talks about Vicky's marriage and in my estimation, she has the best marriage going. The rest of the men all seem so needy to me and scared to death of losing their hold on their wives. The only man that holds up on that show is Vicky's husband Don. Just because Vicky wants to get away with the girls to Florida dosn't mean that she dosn't love her husband. Her get a way and remarriage to Don proved that. I'll take Don any day over the rest of those wimpy men. Love you Don. You rock.

Shirley.....you hit the nail on the head! Can I add that I am really bummed for Tamra though. They seemed such a happy couple a few short seasons ago. I think this is probably more a result of financial woes than anything else. It puts a huge strain on a marriage. I don't necessarily think Simon is a horrible guy...just a control freak. So glad for Vickie and Don!

You are so right when you said that Don is a good man. For so long, he was too good for Vicki. She is two faced and talks about all the other women behind their backs and then grins all up in their faces. She can't be trusted no further than you can see her. But it was heart warming to see her apologize to Don for treating him so badly, and letting him know how much she loves him and wants to be with him forever. She really knows that she will never get another man in her life who will be as good to her as Don has been. She needs to work harder and being a better wife to him and including him in more of her life.
