Long Airport Lines Are No Match for Halle Berry

Canadian police said Friday that it was wrong for one of their officers to whisk
Halle Berry, her model boyfriend and baby through airport security at Montreal's Trudeau airport. A constable at the airport decided to let the couple pass a long line after a spur-of-the-moment request on Monday by Gabriel Aubry, a Quebec model who is Berry's boyfriend and father of her 22-month-old daughter, Nahla.
"The (boyfriend) of Ms. Berry asked if they could go faster through the line because they were late and they had the baby," said Insp. Jimmy Cacchione, who heads the 36-member unit that patrols the Montreal airport.
"The officer took the personal initiative to allow them to go through the line faster, but that's not something the Montreal police supports."
An embarrassed Montreal police force issued a directive to its officers Friday, urging them to avoid a repeat of the episode.
The officer involved will not be reprimanded and the police airport unit will institute stricter rules for the future, Cacchione added.
Berry's agent Toni Howard was not immediately available for comment.
Journalist Marieve Paradis said she spotted the actress and her family bypassing a lengthy security lineup while other passengers waited for hours to get to U.S. Customs.
"It shocked me that we were waiting in line, and there were other babies and other children," Paradis said from Los Angeles, where she lives. "Monday was chaotic at the airport, people were anxious and people were nervous and everyone was scared to miss their flights."
Paradis, who spotted Berry again seated in the front row of the same Los Angeles-bound flight she was on, questioned in her blog Friday why a police escort would have been necessary for the power couple, who own a home north of Montreal.
"I'm not sure people from Montreal are very happy to learn that their money from their taxes is used for escorting celebrities."
Paradis said she barely made the morning flight herself after arriving three and a half hours ahead of departure as a result of heightened security checks at airports across the globe since a foiled terror attack on Christmas Day.

NO, Robin, she may not have asked for special treatment, her boyfriend did.......and SHE didn't have the conscience to say NO. She's like all other Hollywood types....thinks their s.....doesn't stink.
I really don't care except Halle don't tell us how hard it is to be black.
t,(little t)...What you fail to realize is if the constable had been a fan of Journalist Marieve Paradis and she had been allowed to skip ahead, you would not be reading this story.
Who the HELL does she think she is? Wait in line like everyone else, she is no more important ! These people think they are so much more important and what they have to do is more important! I saw wait like the rest of us!

It's time to ban celebrities from flying. They either fly private carrier or do not get to fly at all.

When is everyone going to stop being so enamored with actors!!! That's exactly what they are, ACTORS!!! They put their pants on the same way we do, but the public's glorification encourages and enables their pathetic behavior. I don't get it. Start treating them the way we all get treated. What a reality check that would be!

I agree with Dash. When are we going to stop this idolizing these stars who make a god awful amount of money? they dont pay for anything usually wherever they go! While the rest of us starve and scrimp for the basics. Just like athletes, ceos of corporations, members of congress! Why not worship the people who matter? Teachers, firemen, the armed forces, police, charity workers would be a nice start and where we need to heap our praise and thanks.
NO! I hate to tell you this, BUT, I have seen others rushed through the line because they were late for their plane. I think that the officials were right on this one. Unless they start telling every passenger that is late that they cannot jump the line because of their own untimeliness. Get to the airport as suggested or miss your flight. Isn't life so unfair. Here I am expecting people to accept responsibility.

And lastly, it was probably good to have her go around security. Such a "Dynamite" looker that probably would have alerted the dogs and slowed the operation of the airport even further.

I believe security personnel often escort celebrities through, because it can save them a lot of work and hassle, by avoiding the backlog and confusion caused by crowds of gawkers, etc... So, maybe they asked for this escort and shortcut this time, but these are not necessarily arrogant, holier-than-thou people.

There is a rationale if the celebrity through no fault of their own is causing crowd control issues, we've seen the TMZ videos along with fans bombarding the celebrity which has to make security folks nervous these days but on the other hand, I understand being pissed off when you are waiting in line for hours.
Would they get upset if President Obama or Premier Charest or Prime Minster Harper got special treatment where the security issue is more cut and dry?

if i was on that line- I would hv been screaming my head off- how goddam ridiculous is this nonsense

no one should get preferencial treatment when there is a line involved...she needs to wait her turn..she's only a movie star not a president..

OF COURSE NOT HALLE IS CATWOMAN

Halle Berry is easily, without question, one of the most over-rated actresses working (or should I say, NOT working) today.
I mean, seriously...have you people SEEN 'Catwoman'??
Jesus, the woman was pathetic.

Ms Paradis was probably constipated and reacted with this righteousness attitude so typical nowadays. So does a lot of people on this blog who on the top of it show envy and jealousy toward celebrities. As a matter of fact, I have a tendency to feel sorry for celebrities who pay a price for being gifted artists. They are the prey of envious and jealous people.
People of privileged countries like the USA or Canada are acting spoiled, scared and in a very selfish manner.
Go live in underprivileged countries, and you will appreciate more the little things and be more tolerant toward others, and be more appreciative.

NOT ALL ACTORS EXPECT AND GET SPECIAL TREATMENT...I TRAVEL A LOT COAST TO COAST AND HAVE SEEN MANY STARS, WAITING IN LINE JUST LIKE ANYONE ELSE AND NOT EXPECTING OR DEMANDING ANY MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE GOT....MICHAEL FOX WITH FAMILY....KEANU REEVES....BETTE MIDLER JUST TO MENTION A FEW....IF THEY WANT AND GET SPECIAL TREATMENT THEY ARE OR SHOULD BE TRAVELING 1ST CLASS IN WHICH CASE IT IS UP TO THE AIRLINE TO PROVIDE IT ...NOT THE COP WHO IS THERE TO PROTECT US AND NOT BE DISTRACTED BY THE LIMELIGHT....
