Derek Jeter, Minka Kelly to Tie the Knot

New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter and 'Friday Night Lights' star Minka Kelly are set to tie the knot, The New York Post reports.

According to the Post, Jeter and Kelly have set a November wedding date and will have the ceremony at the same place Kevin Jonas recently wed -- a castle on Long Island.

Jeter has been linked to several Hollywood starlets, including Vanessa Minnillo, Mariah Carey and Jessica Biel.

Kelly previously dated John Mayer.

So how did the brunette beauty tame Jeter?

"She is clearly devoted to him. She goes to probably every game of his that her schedule allows. Being a celebrity herself, she'll understand the pressures of fame," Bonnie Fuller, Editor-in-Chief of HollywoodLife.com explains to PopEater.

"It's helpful when you're as under the spotlight as Derek Jeter is, to have a girlfriend who does understand what that's like," Fuller adds. "[Minka] both understands what it's like to have to deal with the interest of fans and what it's like to have to cope with paparazzi and having a very public life as well as private life. Not everybody can cope with that and is also comfortable with the spotlight."

As for Kelly, Fuller believes it's easy to see why she would marry him. "He's got a great reputation. There's no black splotches of concern about infidelities with former girlfriends ... he's got a spotless record."

I am sure that Derek Jeter knows what he is doing. Why do we have so many jealous people who hate anyone with lots of money? He certainly has earned his. I would be proud to call this young man 'son' any day. He personifies everything good about sports, and his personal life. All you negative people, leave this beautiful couple alone. Best wishes to you and Minka, Derek. May you have a long, and wonderful life together. I hope you will be playing with the Yankees this year. It wouldn't be the same without you.
