Inching Closer to Charges in Michael Jackson Death

A leaked and
verified copy of Michael Jackson's death certificate confirms what has been reported since August: that the iconic singer's June 25 passing was due to "acute propofol intoxication" and "intravenous injection by another." In other words: homicide.
Making someone accountable for the death has dominated the headlines, with an AP report claiming Friday that prosecutors are close to indicting Dr. Conrad Murray, who, according to court documents, administered the propofol. It's widely believed Murray would be brought up on charges of involuntary manslaughter. But a spokesman for the L.A. district attorney's office told
EW it was a "bogus report" and that they "don't have the case" to bring charges against Murray yet. Further, Murray's spokeswoman said they have not been informed of any grand jury proceedings.
It's no longer a question of
if Murray will be charged, rather
when,
Ian Halperin, author of
'Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson,' tells PopEater. A source inside the LAPD tells him the investigation is being conducted thoughouly and that charges will indeed emerge before long.
Halperin believes the DA has no choice but to go after Murray.
"Dr. Murray has to be charged for propofol because it's illegal for that drug to be used in a residential setting," Halperin said, adding, "It would be highly unacceptable if no one is held accountable."
The tense wait for action in the case was a calculated move by authorities, he says. "I think the LAPD made a wise move by letting the hoopla die down."
So far, the Jackson family has not commented on the AP report of pending charges against Murray, but Halperin believes the family "will not accept a scenario without charges being filed."
According to court documents, Jackson died after Murray gave him propofol and two other sedative to help get the singer to sleep. Murray left the room and spent 47 minutes making phone calls. When he returned, Jackson was unresponsive and Murray began attempts to revive him.
The coroner found the propofol was administered to Jackson without any medical need and that recommended resuscitation equipment was missing.
A spokesman for Edward Chernoff, Murray's attorney, has denied that his client prescribed or administered anything that should have killed Jackson.
To prove gross negligence, they said, prosecutors would have to show a conscious indifference for life.
"This trial could end up being a trial of medical practice," the spokesman said. "The question is what discretion does a doctor have to treat a patient, and if a doctor makes a mistake, is it a crime?"

sarabeth- Media will squirm in hell for lies. Treatment of King is perverted.
Drug users like Michael are responsible for their own deaths. He shopped for a doctor and got exactly what he paid for. Families and friends always try to shift the blame to someone else. Michael Jackson was a sick man who killed himself with his desire for drugs.

Ruth- I think King may have sought relief from ailments. He has children, family, friends, fans who love and mourn him. Few deliberately "shop"for death.
yes mj was a starnge person, but look at how he was raised. you can just look at his father and tell he's evil. any child that grows up with a parent like that is not going to act normal. he was just hurting. i know how it feels to have a parent that doesn't give a crap about you, you try to get over it, but it will hurt you for the rest of your life. i could see that mj was genuinely a good person.
so yes i agree that he did some things that were not wise, and he was strange but i think people need to look a little deeper into the situation and have a little sympathy. because you never know, you may need a little understanding from people one of these days.

aba- If you watched Jacksons/American Dream,Joe visited Mike in hospital after Pepsi burn. Stated he did it not only for himself, but for Mike too. Stern, but led to greatness. King acknowledged father's contribution. Joe Jackson has stated would rather have his son. Why does everyone think father hates his child? Joseph brought the world Michael's success.
Leave MJ alone, he is dead, nothing will bring him back.

Yes,this dr. should be held respondsible!
Micheal was a great artist and pioneered pop culture as we know it. However,he had a conscious, that is why the guy was drugged up all the time.He knew what he really did to countless boys.Between trying to stay away from boys,so he wouldn't get in anymore trouble, and knowing deep down inside that he was wrong.Micheal was a pedophile. He's paying for what he did for many years.

yohopyo- I'm grateful the one who will judge ultimately, since having created life, can see clearer than any mortal.
I think Murray is guilty as hell! I think he should be put on trial for first degree murder! The drug he administered is illegal when used outside of a hospital, he left Michael unattended for 47 minutes, and on top of that he had NO medical equipment to monitor Michael's heart rate and breathing and no equipment to resuscitate him in the event of an emergency!
You don't even need a trial! Murry was grossly negligent and should be tried for first degree murder!

He was accused by more than one family.
Any adult who feels its appropriate to invite children to their home for a sleepover and especially sleep in the same bed is a perverted pedophile.
Justice4kidz-King made CLEAR during Bashir interview WHAT took place at sleepovers. If you were a molester, would you disclose on national television sleeping w/chlrn? Don't think so.
lets get this guy tried and pray he brings down everyone else involved in mj's death... because my gut tells me, he's not the only one who conspired against MJ Lori-Ann E NJ

Justice4kidz- TWO families. 1st caught on tape/scheme. 2nd caught PREVIOUSLY scheming someone else. Research.
When you have someone with mental issues, like Michael Jackson, and you team him up with a doctor that will do anything for a buck..this is the end result. Sad that instead of getting Michael the mental help that he needed, he assisted him with his own death. That's a wacko dealing with a wacko.

Roseann- Truly mental to deem world healing as wacko.
