Get the bubbly ready, because my sources are telling me that Prince William and girlfriend Kate Middleton are finally going to take the marriage plunge this year. Sure, it's because they love each other, but is it really because The Queen is pressuring them so they don't steal her Diamond Jubilee thunder? Details on that, plus Kate's hair-induced headache and Madonna's boy toy after the jump!

Hip-hip hooray, old chaps! Get your Union Jacks ready, as sources tell me 2010 will be the year of a royal wedding.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have been dating now on-and-off for over eight years, and although we have heard wedding rumors before, I'm hearing wedding bells will ring this year. "The Queen has made it clear to William that she wants him to have a princess by his side when she celebrates her Diamond Jubilee -- 60 years on the throne -- in 2012," a royal insider tells me.

"The Queen is planning six months of celebrations leading up to the February anniversary of her coronation for herself and will not be upstaged by a royal wedding. This is her time to shine, no one else's." It's good to be the queen! If anyone can be a diva, she can.

That means the future heir to the United Kingdom better get diamond shopping soon. I hear they have some nice ones at the Tower of London!

Kate Gosselin's Pulling Her Hair Out

Kate Gosselin, who last week paid over $7,000 for new long hair, (Note to Kate: Hair grows naturally. You don't need to buy it!) is already regretting it. "She's complaining that her head hurts, that her extensions are too tight and the weight of them feels like someone is constantly pulling her hair," a friend of the mother of 8 laughs.

My hairdresser to the stars friend, Gregg Giannillo, warns this can be a common problem with the sort of extensions Kate got, and suggests next time trying Platinum Seamless extensions ... or -- call me crazy -- how about doing it the old fashion way, darling? Just let your hair grow! I know, I'm a wizard.

Madonna's Boy Toy Doesn't Know Penn

If Madonna's much-talked-about dinner date with her ex, Sean Penn, was meant to make her very young Brazilian toy boy, Jesus Luz, jealous -- the Material Girl needs to think again. "Jesus has no idea who Sean Penn is," Luz's friend tells me. "He knows who lives in a pineapple under the sea, but would never watch the sort of Academy Award-winning films that Sean makes."

Ouch, with friends like that ...

Interesting info on William and Kate. An historical note--Queen Elizabeth ASCENDED the throne on February 6,1952, upon the death of her father, George VI. So the Diamond Jubilee of her ASCENSION will be February 6, 2012. She was actually crowned on June 2, 1953. The Diamond Jubilee of her CORONATION will be June 2, 2013. All of you Anglophiles will know this.

yea but the mayan calender says that the world ends in the year 2012 so who knows if we will make it to 2013...i dont think he should be pressured into marrying if he is not ready

I don't know if I would call the Queen Narcissistic, but I think she is deeply rooted in tradition and the Diamond Jubilee is a big deal.
I would like to think that maybe she would use the occasion to actually announce Williams stepping up to take the throne, and they would certainly want him married when that happens.
I thought I heard a couple of months ago that she hadn't been well and that they were stepping up Williams training.

They've been dating off and on. The last couple of years they have been steady. I think it's a good thing that they are building their relationship, instead of just jumping in. Remember folks, the gal isn't just going to be a wife, she will also be the future Queen of England! I do think they should get those wedding plans moving though - The Queen does not deserve to be upstaged at her cerermonies.

Only a guy (with realllly bad hair, at that}would say that Kate Gosselin should change her look 'the old fashioned way'- by growing it out. It would take five years or more to grow hair to the length that Kate acheived in a day by getting extensions- and five years is a loooong time to a woman with eight little kids! Admit it. Kate looks GREAT with her new look. Who cares what technique she used to get it? How about a little more positive input instead of always criticizing what everyone does.
