Since news of NBC's Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien conundrum broke, the Internet has been up in arms -- mostly showing support for Conan. On Twitter, hashtags like #TeamConan and #GoConan are on the rise. Now everyone from Josh Groban to Ice T are voicing their allegiance to Team Conan via the social networking site. And although 'The Office' star Rainn Wilson (@RainnWilson) may have his hands tied as an employee of NBC, that didn't stop him from plugging his friend Mike Mitchell's popular pro-Conan artwork.
"As an NBC employee & fan of both Leno & Conan, I must remain neutral but @soulpancake artist @sirmitchell made this! http://imwithcoco.com," Wilson wrote. See more celeb reactions. >>

That's not true. Back in 2004, Jay Leno decided he wanted to retire in 2009, and so they started negotiating with Conan O'Brien to take the show when Jay left. Then in 2009, Jay decided he wanted to keep his show, but because of the various contracts that were then in place, this became impossible, and instead he made a deal with NBC to do the 10pm show. NBC agreed to this because it cost them SIGNIFICANTLY less to produce Jay Leno's lame show than it would have to produce 5 scripted dramas that would normally air at 10pm.
What NBC is doing is technically allowed, but just because they can do it doesn't mean they should.
Jay should just bow out graciously and let Conan have his damn show.
Who the hell cares what the celebs think, they can go to hell

How is this Jay's fault? Jay is not forcing Conan out. NBC is. I've been surprised by the Jay bashing. It seems to me like it is all NBC and everyone else is suffering the consequences.

Short memories people. It was Conan pushing Leno out that caused this whole deal. I think Conan is okay, but he gets old real fast. Leno was put under the bus when Conan made his move five years ago. NBC offered Leno the 10 slot when their prediction that Leno's star would be fading by now proved false. He was still number 1 and kicking in ad dollar wise-so they had to do something. The biggest mistake was thinking they could predict long term what the public wants. Then put so much at risk. Oh, Oh, excuse me or am I thinking the bankers.

I think they both suck. Neither one is funny. Its like watching Dane Cook. No wonder Jersey Shore and the Kardashians are growing in popularity. I turn off the volume and watch Kim K's big boobs and laugh at Jenners face...........

I've met Jay Leno a few times...VERY NICE GUY. But he's just not as funny, edgy or off the wall as the unpredictably entertaining Conan O'Brien. Watching Conan is like watching a living, breathing cartoon character. I think he's too sophisticated for your average lame viewer in that time slot. He should go back to NY and to late night where he was most loved and in his element. L.A. is LAME anyway! (and I live there!)

People who believe this was some how Leno's fault that Conan's time slot would have been moving had Conan agreed to stay on NBC are simply idiots, and not surprisingly, are fans of Conan's childish humour. While Conan has every right to be angry with NBC, so does Leno for being cancelled by NBC. This was clearly NBC's doing, and it is NBC who deserves the blame, not Leno or Conan. Truth be told though, NBC clearly overestimated Conan's appeal to a wide demographic. He had seven months to build a strong ratings base and failed to do so. Thus, treating Conan as somehow the only victim in this debacle is ludicrous.

Jay is the best late night host. Conan is ok. I think he should go after Letterman's spot. I think with some time as a seasoned host Conan could be as good as Jay and a hell of lot better than Dave.

Conan's ratings are in the tooilet because he s t i n k s.

Jellybean...not only is your name fruity, but you are ignorant to reality. Conan's numbers are BETTER than Jay's Especially in the 18-49 demographic. Largely recognized as the most important one.
I remember in the film, 'The Great Ziegfeld,' a former janitor for his show was given a chance at being lead singer. Nervous before his first performance, he said to Ziegfeld, "If I flop, I can always go back to being janitor." Ziegfeld responded, "No way. You gave up that job when you took this one."

Jay Leno really needs to step aside. Jay has already had his time and now it is Connan's time. I really do like both, but it is only fair. So Jay if you read this, stop the drama & be a big man here and retire. Enjoy, your life with your family, take your wife on vacation!

Jay Leno is soooo boring. I have tried to watch him a few times and I fall asleep everytime. I am 33 yrs old now and have watched Conan since i was in High School. Hands down Conan is much more entertaining and funnier then Leno and now with having Andy back like the old days I think the Tonight Show is perfect! (or atleast until Jan 22nd it will be) NBC is going to regret this you watch. I hope Conan goes to FOX and has the same time slot as LETTERMAN and LENO and watch FOXS' ratings soar. What will they do with Leno then to get people to watch him??? maybe put him on the evening news??? lol... I'M WITH COCO!!!

I knew Conan would fail. He is simply not that funny. I think NBC messed this up they took Jay off the Tonight Show to begin with. I am not saying he should return at this point, but none of this surprises me. When your sidekick (Andy Richter) is funnier than you are you will not survive an earlier time slot. I have always preferred Dave myself.
