Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien Turn on Each Other

The late-night barbs aren't stopping, and Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien have switched from making fun of NBC, to taking jabs at each other.

"Nobody knows what is going on. Conan O'Brien, understandable, is very upset. He had a statement in the paper yesterday. Conan said NBC has only gave him seven months to make his show work. When I heard that ... Seven months?! How did he get that deal? We only got four! Who's his agent?" Leno quipped to his audience.

"Hosting 'The Tonight Show' has been the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for me -- and I just want to say to the kids out there watching: You can do anything you want in life. Unless Jay Leno wants to do it too," Conan said. Watch It Below

But, of course, each host had plenty to say about NBC itself.

"Critics of the war have stopped referring to it as another Vietnam," Leno began. "The bad news, they are now calling it another NBC."

"Welcome, of course, to NBC, America's most dysfunctional family," Jay shouted.

For his part, Conan recruited Jack McBrayer to roast NBC. Dressed as his '30 Rock' character Kenneth the Page, McBrayer gave a tour of the studio during O'Briens's opening.

"This is the former home of 'The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien.'" McBrayer said. "Here's a fun fact, NBC spent more time building this set than using it," he added. Watch It Below

Meanwhile, Jimmy Fallon steered clear of criticizing anyone. "I'm happy to have a job. I really am. I have a lot fun doing this show. We all do. But it's kind of weird because these are two of my heroes and two of my friends," he said on 'Late Night.'

"Leno, I was on his show so many times before I was even at this job and when I got this job he gave me so much advice, as did Conan," Fallon continued. "Conan O'Brien if he didn't kick ass here for 17 years, I wouldn't be here, I wouldn't have a job," Fallon praised. Watch the Video Here

Of course, David Letterman is never one to pass up an opportunity."Isn't it lousy cold outside today? You know, they say, from the weather bureau, they say it's caused by an Arctic chill between Jay and Conan," he joked on 'The Late Show.'

i like your referring to leno as the bully.

i'm a huge fan of conan, and i like seeing someone who's not even that much of a fan, stand up for what's right. :)

N B C doesn't have a clue about entertainment. The only publicity they can muster up is the O'Brian/ Leno throw-down. Their rating have dropped so bad with all the trash they show..their desparation is showing. I wish both hosts would walk! lol

They should just get RID of BOTH JAY and CONAN and start Fresh Give it to KIMMEL. They already screwed both Jay and Conan why not bring Kimmel in the mix so they can duke KIMMEL in the Buns too LOL.

Its not like Jay is taking something from Conan, it was Jay's show for many years and then NBC decided they no longer wanted Jay and would take away the show he made #1. They gave it to Conan and left Jay with a destined to fail primetime show! Now they realize their mistake and are screwed but this is not Jay's fault. This is Jays show and he deserves it back. Yeah, it sucks for Conan but cant he see that Jay got screwed too! Why should Jay feel bad, he got screwed too!

Not exactly. 5 years ago Jay had planned on leaving the Tonight Show, and Conan was going to take it over. They moved everybody out from New York for the show, only to have all this happen.

Jay was their first his rates will go up ...Neither of you held your rates in your new time slots ...either be glald to have a job or shut the heck up! someone will be glad to get the later time slot Conan & too boot you are NOT the tonight show! Johnny was and Jay earned his dues with Johnny to do it...It always worked now you've got it and it was declining....sooooo Wah Wah Wah

really, why should anybody give a crap.? with all the terrible things that are happening to our society, hunger, unemployment,wars,homelessness,who cares about cat fights between the rich and spoiled ? what ever happens with these two, i'm sure they'll be just fine.

Bottom line is that NBC poorly handled this situation. What NBC should have done was give Leno an extension of say an extra two years to his contract and preped Conan for the slot better.

I love Leno and I like Conan and I actually feel for both of these guys. I was in a similar situation (not with my own talk show of course!) in which I was supposed to replace an employee who was supposed to be leaving. I turned down other job offers to accept the position and I ended up having to look for another job when that person's moving plans were put on hold. I don't think NBC was fair to Jay and Conan and I wish that both of these guys would stick it to NBC. Have Jay on Fox (Fox has the cash) and put Conan on ABC (Jimmy Kimmel is terrible!) and have these two guys go against Letterman. That will teach NBC for screwing people around ;-)

I agree, and this like a lot of other things that happen prove, don't try to fix something that isn't broken. Both shows "worked" in my opinion in their original time slots, and both had good ratings.

Yeah Jay got screwed. To the tune of more than 30 million a year. He is no longer funny, just mean. How can you possibly say Jay got screwed when his salary never went down, his family and staff didnt sell their homes and uproot their families, and when he fell flat on his boring face, he got what he wanted. waaahhh...sniff sniff

I do believe it was Jay's wish to leave the Tonight Show. Good ratings or not Jay couldn't carry Johnny Carson's jock strap. I loved Conan at his 12:35 time slot. I am not sure why merely changing time slots affected the funniness of the show but it did. I love Letterman and Conan. Jay's and NBC's 10:00 concept was doomed from the start but if Jay had any class he would admit defeat and accept being cancelled either retire or find another network. Johnny was the ONLY late night king. He had the charm that all others lack cept Letterman.

i AGREE, I never could stand Conan. He definitely is not funny - he is sickening and it makes me sick to even watch him which is almost never. What a BIG BOO BOO when they took Jay off and put Conan in this place. Where is NBC's STUPID SIGN????

I think both Jay and Conan got screwed big time. It definitely wasn't Jay's fault that Conan is being kicked off the "Tonight Show". But like someone above already mentioned, they should both walk off the network together.
