Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien Turn on Each Other

The late-night barbs aren't stopping, and Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien have switched from making fun of NBC, to taking jabs at each other.

"Nobody knows what is going on. Conan O'Brien, understandable, is very upset. He had a statement in the paper yesterday. Conan said NBC has only gave him seven months to make his show work. When I heard that ... Seven months?! How did he get that deal? We only got four! Who's his agent?" Leno quipped to his audience.

"Hosting 'The Tonight Show' has been the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for me -- and I just want to say to the kids out there watching: You can do anything you want in life. Unless Jay Leno wants to do it too," Conan said. Watch It Below

But, of course, each host had plenty to say about NBC itself.

"Critics of the war have stopped referring to it as another Vietnam," Leno began. "The bad news, they are now calling it another NBC."

"Welcome, of course, to NBC, America's most dysfunctional family," Jay shouted.

For his part, Conan recruited Jack McBrayer to roast NBC. Dressed as his '30 Rock' character Kenneth the Page, McBrayer gave a tour of the studio during O'Briens's opening.

"This is the former home of 'The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien.'" McBrayer said. "Here's a fun fact, NBC spent more time building this set than using it," he added. Watch It Below

Meanwhile, Jimmy Fallon steered clear of criticizing anyone. "I'm happy to have a job. I really am. I have a lot fun doing this show. We all do. But it's kind of weird because these are two of my heroes and two of my friends," he said on 'Late Night.'

"Leno, I was on his show so many times before I was even at this job and when I got this job he gave me so much advice, as did Conan," Fallon continued. "Conan O'Brien if he didn't kick ass here for 17 years, I wouldn't be here, I wouldn't have a job," Fallon praised. Watch the Video Here

Of course, David Letterman is never one to pass up an opportunity."Isn't it lousy cold outside today? You know, they say, from the weather bureau, they say it's caused by an Arctic chill between Jay and Conan," he joked on 'The Late Show.'

If they would have gaven Jay more time to get the 10 pm show going I think he would made it work but he needs to get back to the old Jay like using skipets with Obama like he did Bush do pump cast and those type of things.Jays joke are good makes Cocan jokes sound like a first grader

Leno was a fool to think he could move to prime time and make it work. If he doesn't walk away from NBC like Conan he'll have to change his last name to Noballs.

Conan is such an ungrateful baby. He didn't deserve the Tonight Show then and he CERTAINLY doesn't deserve it now. Fire the jerk!

One of the best jokes ever by Conan...you can do anything you want as long as Jay Leno doesn't want to do it to, is so true. Jay should have some class already, but he didn't have it when Carson got the boot, so why should he now. His jokes are old and stale, just like him. He must gold with NBC execs, because there is no way HE is the future of late night. STUPID MOVE NBC

This is ridiculous. Jay gave up the show. He made his decision. Conan contracted to take over the show and he's certainly a better host than leno was. Leno tried a new format and it tanked. Too bad. He needs to put on his big boy pants and develop another show somewhere, or go back on the road.

Listen, NBC made Conan a promise because some fool thought that he was actually funny. They made the decision to "can" Jay and hand over the reins to Conan. I don't think it was Jay's idea to "retire". At least I never heard those words. Jay has always kicked Letterman's butt. Now they see that they were all wrong. Conan IS NOT funny. Bottom line is that NBC screwed up, then screwed up again. Jay belongs on the Tonight Show, not O'Brien. Jay made mega bucks for the network. I'm just surprised he let NBC get away with this in the first place. I would have went to ABC and cleaned everybody's clock.

papam11, that is baloney! Like MANY others, I saw and heard Jay Leno say that he wanted to retire within the 5 year period of time. HE named Conan as his successor. During that interview Jay was calm, cheerful and SURE that by 2009 he would be ready to RETIRE. And, Letterman was far more successful than Leno when Jay Leno first took over the Tonight Show. David Letterman was on every major magazine at the time, and he quite graciously declined to be unkind to Jay despite the fact that Letterman had been screwed over himself by Jay Leno and NBC. That was why David Letterman walked. Get your facts in order. I don't dislike Leno, but how can he lie about this situation to save face and then go back on The Tonight Show and think that all will be well? As others have said, Jay leno needs to move on - NOT force someone else to lose their job, too. When Conan O'Brien took over The Tonight Show, it became HIS show. If it's such a revolving door over at NBC, usher out the executives.

Jay may have been all cordial and everything 5 years ago to appease NBC, but its been made clear even in this article that NBC forced Jay to step aside for Conan, which has turned out to be very costly mistake all the way around. The issue is not Jay's new show and its ratings, the real issue is the fact that the ratings for the tonight show have tanked with Conan because he can not pull the viewers that Jay did and NBC wants Jay back in that slot.

shari, your the one who needs to get their facts straight.just about evetything you said was wrong. letterman never had the ratings to get the tonight show. that is why leno got it.jack parr walked off the show.carson was done the same as leno he was all but forced out. you need to get your facts straight.

Im amazed Jay has all of his staffers and relatives on here posting how funny he is!! The guy tells old grandpa jokes that you can predict the punchline before you've even heard it (and most of them have been heard already). He is also a HACK who has not only stolen bits from the Stern show, but there are occasions where he has repeated jokes CONAN has said days before on HIS show. Check it on YOU TUBE idiots, it's on there. TWO days after Conan told a joke on his show, Leno repeats it on his show! THE GUY IS A HACK WHO ISN'T GENUINELY FUNNY AT ALL. THIS is the guy you support???????

I really like Jay and really hate conan, But, Jay agreed to leave the tonight show. NBC promised Conan the job. A lot of people up-rooted their lives to move to California on this pretense. I think the worst thing Jan and Conan can do is start on each other. But in all fairness Jay should step aside. I will never watch Conan or the Tonight Show until Conan leaves and I have watched since Jack Parr, but I am only one and there are a lot of people that like Conan
