The late-night barbs aren't stopping, and Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien have switched from making fun of NBC, to taking jabs at each other.
"Nobody knows what is going on. Conan O'Brien, understandable, is very upset. He had a statement in the paper yesterday. Conan said NBC has only gave him seven months to make his show work. When I heard that ... Seven months?! How did he get that deal? We only got four! Who's his agent?" Leno quipped to his audience.
"Hosting 'The Tonight Show' has been the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for me -- and I just want to say to the kids out there watching: You can do anything you want in life. Unless Jay Leno wants to do it too," Conan said. Watch It Below
But, of course, each host had plenty to say about NBC itself.
"Critics of the war have stopped referring to it as another Vietnam," Leno began. "The bad news, they are now calling it another NBC."
"Welcome, of course, to NBC, America's most dysfunctional family," Jay shouted.
For his part, Conan recruited Jack McBrayer to roast NBC. Dressed as his '30 Rock' character Kenneth the Page, McBrayer gave a tour of the studio during O'Briens's opening.
"This is the former home of 'The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien.'" McBrayer said. "Here's a fun fact, NBC spent more time building this set than using it," he added. Watch It Below
Meanwhile, Jimmy Fallon steered clear of criticizing anyone. "I'm happy to have a job. I really am. I have a lot fun doing this show. We all do. But it's kind of weird because these are two of my heroes and two of my friends," he said on 'Late Night.'
"Leno, I was on his show so many times before I was even at this job and when I got this job he gave me so much advice, as did Conan," Fallon continued. "Conan O'Brien if he didn't kick ass here for 17 years, I wouldn't be here, I wouldn't have a job," Fallon praised. Watch the Video Here
Of course, David Letterman is never one to pass up an opportunity."Isn't it lousy cold outside today? You know, they say, from the weather bureau, they say it's caused by an Arctic chill between Jay and Conan," he joked on 'The Late Show.'
It is all just a ratings move. Now everyone is watching both of them. They are a lot smarter than you think. Just follow the money. Don't be fooled by the man behind the curtain.
NBC is the bad guy here. They forced Jay to leave he didn't want to. Now that Conan's show is crap and Jay time slot is crap NBC wants to make another change. Everyone is getting crapped on including Jay. NOT HIS FAULT...
It's all about the money. Jay and Conan were asked to change times so that NBC could put a (relatively) cheap show in prime time and save money. When the network affiliates threatened to preempt Jay's show (because it's poor ratings hurt their news broadcasts) and put on reruns of Law and Order or some other popular show, then the NBC execs decided that Jay's show had to go, and the three men (Jay,Conan, and Fallon) would have to suck up whatever time slot the network wanted to give them. I totally understand Conan's point of view, and Fallon's, but I don't get Jay. He has to be richer than God by now, why can't he just graciously move over and let the other two do their shows? I think this is not his call, but the networks' - I think maybe we are blaming the wrong people.
both of these guys are nothing but a walking over inflated ego... neither one is funny and i could care less if i never ever see or hear from either ever again! over paid for what they do so as it is!
Hey bobo I think that Conan is the least funniest guy I have ever watched. His 7th grade mentality quit being funny to once I went into 8th grade, but, I am an older guy perhaps I just don't understand his humor. All things are just opinions don't take things to heart so much seems to be anger in your post, as long as there is one more person walking there will be an opinion that won't be yours
Leno got his turn, plus he agreed to leave the Tonight Show knowing what the risk was if his new show did not work. Conan should stay where he is now. with all this going on i think both hosts are loosing ground on their ratings and people like David and George Lopez are reaping of this. I tell you what, Mr Lopez is really giving everyone a bashing with his new show. I think its his show is a breath of fresh air.
Leno should just go away already, disappear under a rock. He is not funny and the Tonight Show was never his to begin with. It was rightfully Letterman's but Leno and his then manager weaseled it from under his chin. Let's not forget that. Conan on the other hand is actually a funny, creative guy who is doing his own thing and he actually worked hard and earned his place on the Tonight Show. I for one will not be watching Late Night on NBC if he leaves.
You're all full of it as Jay is the man and should have never left and the last 7 months proves it as the ratings dropped with Conan. Jay is more mature and professional. Conan may one day be able to replace Jay but it will be some time, Jay's not finished yet and to prove it check his ratings when he returns to late night.
I wouldn't be surprised if this was all a hoax just to get the ratings up for both shows. It just doesn't seem real...I know both Jay's and Conan's shows have seen a hit in ratings. I bet this little fight has brought it back up. It's just absolutely ridiculous!!!!
need we forget, the orginal one that got screwed,David Letterman? The Tonight Show was supposed to be his after Carson but NBC screwed him!But I think right now Dave is sitting back laughing at NBC,Leno and Connan.Surprised he hasn't taken more shots at them.
it is really silly to take sides against jay, & conan. they are 2 people in 'show business' who are going to do what is best for themselves. leno paid his dues and deserves just as conan does to fill whatever slot they can. you people should get a life.
Jay is funny Conan is not,Conan has not made any progress in the 7 months he has had the 11:30 time slot so he should go Jay was #1 when he left and the best business decision is to bring him back Conan is more suited to the later night crowd
Both of those morons suck they are not even funny, their shows SUCKS... LOPEZ TONIGHT IS THE BOMB HE IS FUNNY AND SHOULD TAKE THESE FOOLS OUT OF TONIGHT SHOWS BECAUSE NEITHER LENO NOR CONAN CAN'T TOUCH HIM.... LOPEZ RULES LATE NIGHT & YOU AND I KNOW IT FOOLS...
I like both Conan and Jay but if Jay was supposed to leave, then he was supposed to leave....it is not Conan's fault that NBC screwed up....but then again it is not Jay's either....one of them should just leave and go to Fox and then we could have a 3-way fight between Leno, Letterman, and Conan for top honors and may the best host win....

I don't get why some folks as well as Conan is placing blame or indicating that it is Jay Leno's fault about this entire mess.
It was not Jay's fault, it was the fault of some dumb decision that an NBC executive made in the first place.
If it ain't broke why fix it???
Also, it is the affilliates that are screaming about low ratings, and you can believe that NBC is not going to mess with them.
Stop trying to turn this thing into a Jay Leno issue, because it is not fair and not true.
NBC simply has to eat their mistake, pay Conan off and place Jay Leno back on the Tonight Show where he belongs.
Damn! Johnny must be SPINNING!

Did you not watch Letterman last night? His whole monologue was a very funny bash directed at NBC as well as Leno.
