Kelis Takes on PETA in Scathing MySpace Letter

When not crooning about milkshakes and bossiness, you can regularly find Kelis at the center of a high profile scandal -- be it her much publicized custody battle with estranged husband, Nas, or now a scuffle with PETA that's sure to ruffle a few feathers.

Some background on the situation: Kelis was photographed earlier this week wearing a very fur-centric ensemble which caught the attention of animal activist group PETA leading the singer to make a public rebuttal via her MySpace blog. Kelis not only dismisses PETA President Ingrid Newkirk as "nuts" but the organization as a whole as causing "the death of high fashion."

"I eat meat and in fact my mouth salivates as I type the word, " Kelis writes.

In her over 600 word rant, Kelis states that she would never wear the fur of endangered species, but chinchilla and mink are fair game. "Quite honestly [they] are rodents, and if it weren't in the form of a coat, I would demand they be put to death anyway."

Kelis is obviously not above writing such potentially shocking statements and proceeds with a hypothetical scenario where she "would eat pterodactyl if you found some and told me it was meaty and delicious."

Instead of focusing on the plight of the animal kingdom, the singer suggests people should focus on more worthwhile causes such as poverty in underdeveloped countries and women's basic rights in the Middle East.

PETA should be labeled a slaughterhouse as they murdered 98% of the dogs surrendered to them! PETA's agenda is for the non-ownership of ANY pets.... so if you have a dog, cat, bird, fish, whatever, PETA wants to take it away from you! PETA should be considered a homeland terrorist!

Listen fool, she said she don't like rodents. Then she says she wants to wear them cuz they are fashion. That makes her trashy don't it?

So what grade did you it to in school fool. She said that she doesn't like any rodents, and then that she wants to wear their skins because they are fashion. Makes sense to you though doesn't it? Cuz your brain don't work so good to see the contradiction.

This zealot is all about stopping animal cruelty...such as skinning animals while they are alive and then throwing the still living creature in the trash. Yes, they are skinned alive...for you and all those out there that think this is okay you need to have your head examined. This isn't about fashion...it's about disgusting people that don't give a damn over the suffering of animals. Get real, Toni. People are animals. She cares about people. She just doesn't give a rats ash about the preservation of rodents. A girl of my own mind.

So if Kelis doesn't like low life rodents, then why is she wearing them as high fashion? Because that is how her rodent size brain works that's why.
