Mother of 'Teen Mom' Arrested Over Choking Incident

Farrah Abraham, one of the stars of MTV's 'Teen Mom,' was allegedly assaulted by her mother Saturday during an argument at their home in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Debra Danielson, 54, was arrested following the incident, the according to various media reports. According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Danielson tossed an MTV t-shirt at her 19-year-old daughter, but it landed "on or near" Abraham's infant, who began to cry.

At that, they began arguing about, among other things, childcare and Danielson reportedly grabbed Abraham by the throat and during the struggle struck her on the head and mouth.

Police observed multiple cuts on Abraham and Danielson was arrested for domestic abuse / serious assault. TMZ has the mug shot.

Abraham, a former cheerleader, is one of four teens featured in 'Teen Mom,' which chronicles the struggles of young mothers. Her baby, Sophia, and Danielson are seen on the show.

My son watches this show so I sometimes sit in his room and watch it with him. This girl is a pain in the ass, she is disrespectful to her parents and doesn't take care of her baby, her parents do. I've heard her tell her mother numerous times that she is young and wants to enjoy life. She should've thought about that before she decided to be a teen mom. Her mother probably lost it for a moment. As a parent I've gotten to that point, I've never been physical with my kids but I could understand how it could've happen.

You are a certifiable idiot. There is NEVER an excuse to physically attack another person. At 19 the girl is not a child but a legal adult. As the mother of an airhead that has had not one but two babies of different men by the time she was 20, I often had the urge to grab and shake her but KNEW that it would serve no purpose and only end me in jail. There are better ways to handle a stressful situation then by violence and throwing articles of clothing. I hope that mother/grandmother serves some county time and pays a hefty fine for this act. It is also time for the girl to move out and make a home for herself and her child, she does have the money from the tv program. That is how I handled our situation, gave her a deadline to find a job and home and take her kids and leave if she wanted to play at sex and babies let her pay the price for it. The real answer is for society to stop accepting this situation...the unwed mothers that are praised and pampered...it is wrong and the babies do suffer in the end.

I have to Agree. I watch this show and the daughter is absolutely out of control. I am 32 and if i ever spoke to my mom the way she does, i would get whooped to, LOL

I wouldn't be talking about a certifiable idiot if I were you!!! I'm 19. I'm pregnant. I live with my parents (if only temporarily). And I'm not married. Does that make me such an awful person? I don't think so. Cause up until 3 days ago I was working my rear off to make sure this kid had everything it needed. Just because a girl is unwed doesn't make her an unfit and awful mother. It should matter how she acts with the baby, how she raises it (if at all) and what she makes out of the situation.

My mother was never abusive and the only time she physically disciplined us was if we talked disrespectfully to her. At that point she would smack you. After I turned 18 we NEVER again had any problem because I knew that I was living in HER home and as an adult if I did not like it, I could move. At 18 you should understand respect for your parent. This 19 year old needs to be booted and parents stop doing so much to help her.

Mom must have got tired of babysitting the kid so this girl could go party it up with her friends and get laid. This girl is so disrespectful. She got pregnant and had this this baby. At any chance she gets she tries to pawn this child off on her parents. She feels as though it is their responsibility to care for her child so she can continue being a teenager. Her priorities seem to be going on dates and (as seen in one episode where she took her child to the doctors because she wanted to get birth control) get laid. Although I don't think her mom should have choked her, if it's true, her disrespect, yelling, and lack of responsibility may have caused her mom to lose it.

I totally agree with you. In every episode this girl is being disrespectful to her parents. I dont know how she feels that she has the right to talk and behave in such a manner when they pay for HER child's diapers etc. Her mom most likely lost it after the constant disrespect.

I do not condone violence but I can understand the mother's frustration. I would not tolerate disrespect in my home either. Best thing for the mom, let the little biotch be responsible for her child and let her find another place to live.

The child stands little chance at being normal at all with a parent like this. The grand mother should have had more sense, than to stoop as low as the daughter. Its always the child in the middle, that ends up paying the cost of the parents ignoance. I wish cps would take a close look at this mother. And grand mother as well.

Well it seems princess Farrah's mom finally snapped. I do not condone violence, but this unfit teen mom needs to learn a lesson about respect. Your parents did not ask you to have a baby and drop it at their feet. They raised their kids and do not need to raise yours! You think it is okay to party all week long? I hope CPS gets involved and shows you what happens to people who refuse to care for their kids. Your so concerned with finding a baby daddy that it is sickening. I don't recall seeing or hearing anything of him.
She needs to move out. She is just taking advantage of her mother and father.She is old enough now. 19 as far as maturity is nothing like 16. I like Bently's mother the best. I think she will make it just fine in life. Farrah needs to get over herself. I feel sorry for her mother.
I really hope they kick her out and let her get a taste of real life. Maybe later after the heat calms she can move back in until she gets a proper education. Also, I was glad to see her get birth control. I mean really people once you have sex you most likely are not going to stop. After you have baby it is very easy for most women to get pregnant again.
