Mother of 'Teen Mom' Arrested Over Choking Incident

Farrah Abraham, one of the stars of MTV's 'Teen Mom,' was allegedly assaulted by her mother Saturday during an argument at their home in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Debra Danielson, 54, was arrested following the incident, the according to various media reports. According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Danielson tossed an MTV t-shirt at her 19-year-old daughter, but it landed "on or near" Abraham's infant, who began to cry.

At that, they began arguing about, among other things, childcare and Danielson reportedly grabbed Abraham by the throat and during the struggle struck her on the head and mouth.

Police observed multiple cuts on Abraham and Danielson was arrested for domestic abuse / serious assault. TMZ has the mug shot.

Abraham, a former cheerleader, is one of four teens featured in 'Teen Mom,' which chronicles the struggles of young mothers. Her baby, Sophia, and Danielson are seen on the show.

Obviously, those of you who are having an issue w/ her still wanting a social life @ 19, have never been a single parent young! It's not easy to balance everything & to feel "normal". This girl is in culinary school & doing what she can to someday truly be able to provide for her baby girl. Her mother's a B**** & has hit her a couple times on the show. There's never an excuse to choke or hit your child in that manner!

Every time I watch this show I am WAITING for someone to slap her or something. She is extremely disrespectful and her parents care about the baby so much that they won't kick her sorry butt out of the house!!! She is a spoiled brat and sadly the morons of this "don't spank or discipline your child" will try to make an example of the mom and "hero" of the brat. Ugh!!!

yeah she is a spoiled brat but her parents made her that way! she needs to learn from her mistakes! her mom is a control freak and needs to let her make the choices, its her baby! as for the father...some sre better left out, but he is not around to defend his self! i like the show and Maci is my favorite and Amber is my least favorite! Caitlynn is great too! She did what she thought was best for her baby!

My husband and I watched this show one night. I applaud the mom I would have beat her down along time ago. This girl is the reason why parents should be able to disapline there kids. I feel bad for this baby and MTV should have intervened and got Farrah some parenting classes!!!

Never heard of the show or watched it either. That baby needs to be taken by the state and put in a normal, loving home with NO t.v. cameras. These so-called reality shows with little kids in them need to stop!

To Ms. Anna-you are the exception. This girl as people have said on this board would rather party than take care of her child. Her mother is a convenient baby sitter. My sister had kids out of wedlock at 22 and dumped them on everyone else when she couldn't handle it. Do you think that's being a mother??? This girl deserves to be criticized if she is sassing her mother under her roof. At 19, she needs to move out and provide a life for her child and sacrifice her partying days because they are over! She'll make enough with MTV to buy a house, but she'll probably blow it all on herself before her child gets anything!

Let me put it this way ,in my time when a girl got pregnant she went to a home for unwed mothers and then gave the child up for adoption. Today people treat this as a great event. The girl stays home, does nothing, parents or welfare support her and the kid and she still goes to school and some schools have day care paid for by the tax payers. It is a little to late to try to get your kid to respect you and your home much less herself or her child at age 16. This should have been done as the child was growing up. These kids that are poping kids out and keeping them for the grand parents to raise?? need to have those kids taken away and given for adoption. Most of them wind up pregnant again and live on welfare for the rest of their lives and then the kids do the same thing..start young and teach them morals and respect..not after they have already slept with half the neighborhood.

I cant believe anyone would say thats what this girl deserves, thats absolute trash. Imagine what kind of mom the grandmother was to the teen mom when she was younger, probably horrible. Ever considered thats why she acts like she does. NEVER an excuse to do this to her daughter and with a baby right there. If you agree then you are trash just like her!!!!!!!!!

If the worse thing that happened to my child was she got pregnant I would be happy. However, my children knew if they were disrespectful they would have consequences. Kids today know all they have to do is call the police. Parents can't control their kids because the law took the control away from them. A smack isn't going to scar them for life but it will teach them to control their words and the tone they use. But, I do agree, if their 18, throw them out and give them a reality check. You have to teach them when they are very, very young. 18 is way to late.

While I agree that Farrah appears disrespectful and irresponsible in nearly every episode, everyone is also forgetting that her mother is an argumentative and overbearing shrew.

The girl wasn't just born that way. The way she treats her parents is clearly a result of crappy parenting. If my parents didn't want me going out, I would not be out.

I wish her mom would stop b*tching about her partying and just pull the plug. It's no wonder her daughter acts the way she does. Stop running your mouth and actually do some parenting.

To start with: YEAH MOM!!!! It's about time someone put their foot into that SPOILED CHILD's behind. For someone living in their parents home and DUMPING their responsibility on her parents; and then having the nerve to get an attitude over the need to take responsibility for her child, should have been SLAPPED long ago.

I agree, when Mom gets out of jail she needs to toss this princess out and let her live on welfare and see how she likes it.

Why is it that when they dont know who the baby's father is they are always "killed in a car crash"??

It's sad when situations boil down to such violence. There were steps, I'm sure, that both Farrah and Debra could have taken to prevent this from happening. And now that everything snapped, they will have to work twice as hard to get to a point where things can be alright between the two of them again. I just hope that baby Sophia doesn't have to suffer because of her mother and grandmother's relationship.

I have never watched (and won't watch) this show, but from all the postings, it would appear that this young mother has too many problems to be put in front of a national audience. Her immaturity is only magnified by this exposure, and her baby is the main one who will suffer. Get Grandma out of jail, and get the whole family into therapy (and hope it isn't too late for Farrah).

I agree the teen does appear to be disprespectful, but my guess is she has been allowed to act that way for most of her life. She does need to spend more time being a mother, but I think everyone is over looking the fact that the mother is also out of control. Who acts like that , who treats their kids like that? She couldn't even control herself on air. She slapped Farrah is the car while cameras were rolling. Farrah may be disrespectful but her mother is abusive and that is something no one should have to tolerate.
