Revamped Heidi Montag Swears She's 'Not Addicted'

Heidi Montag rolled out her new, um, look last week in a big PEOPLE cover story, where she talked about getting 10 procedures done in one day. We're talkin' brow lifts, fat injections, ear-pinnings and even a chin reduction. Since then, the 'Hills' starlet has been accused of being a plastic surgery addict. To that, Montag says phooey.

The reality actress-singer appeared on 'Good Morning America' on Tuesday to defend her honor. And her face. "I would say that none of those people know me at all," Montag said of her critics. "And that's just a judgment. I'm not addicted."

Montag said she has had only two days of surgeries in the last few years. First in 2007, and then again this past November. Being Heidi, she just happens to cram a whole bunch into each day.

"If you're addicted to something, you have to do it all the time, not once every couple years, if even," she said.

She underwent rhinoplasty and breast augmentation surgery in 2007.

In her cover story with PEOPLE, Montag said she was "beyond obsessed" with having work done on herself.

She doesn't think she looks like a Barbie doll, as many fans have charged. "I think I just look like a different, improved version of myself," she said.

And although she's being hammered for inadvertently sending the message to young fans that plastic surgery is acceptable, she blames her line of work.

"I'm also in a different industry than they are," she said. "You know, I'm in a limelight. I'm in a different industry. And I have to do things that are going to make me happy at the end of the day. I'm living in my skin, and I look in the mirror and it's my career, my life."

Last week, PopEater teamed up with Access Hollywood to get your opinion on Heidi's surgical endeavors. We asked what your thoughts were, 87 percent believe that it's "totally reckless, but not surprising from her. Another desperate cry for attention."

The other 13 percent thought, "If it makes her feel better, good for her!"

I agree - she looks so fake already and she is still young. And what profession was she referring too? She really has no talent except for the fact that she seems to be able to manipulate the media into thinking she is someone.

Advice, the first part of knowing you have a problem is admitting it. The changes she made and they way she talks about doing more is not normal. I lost so much respect for her with her being with Spencer and the way he talks to her and this. So sad, a already beautiful girl with so much to offer going down a bad path.

She looks like Faith Hill. I wish she had the class Faith has. It is too bad the message she is sending to the age of the audience that put her face on this map. If it wasn't for the Hills, she would be like me and you. It is very sad. I wonder what her parents are thinking.

The Heidi that first appreared on The Hills doesn't look ANYTHING like the girl I see in this article, not even close!!

A poster posted about her wanting what Lauren has and I couldn't agree with that enough!!! Lauren has something that Heidi will NEVER have, a brain, not to mention, so much more. Heidi's 1st mistake was forgetting "who" she was and her 2nd and most costly one was hooking up with that moron she calls a husband!!

As far as her parents... her mom and step dad seem to care but because she's over 18, they can't do a damn thing to stop her from making a fool out of herself and her 'real dad', the one who gave her away at her wedding (anyone else notice that the man she "called" her daddy in the beginning wasn't the one who gave her away?) reminds me of the man she married!! The fact that her "real dad" accepted that moron after treating his daughter like CRAP, tells me that all he cares about is what he can get from them. And believe me, since he was gung-ho about that marriage, you know damn well he's getting "something".

I don't have a teenage daughter so I say to those who do... DON'T let your girls watch that show!! It's not real and the messages the show is sending to teenagers aren't good ones, that's for damn sure!!! I'm an adult and I'm able to take the show with a grain of salt, well, when I "use to" watch it that is but teenagers can't/don't. Need I say more??? Peace
