Tiger Woods in Sex Rehab (For Real This Time, Maybe)

ESPN didn't report it when the greatest golfer in the world was rumored to be recovering from cosmetic surgery after getting whacked in the face by his own 9-iron. Yahoo! Sports didn't publish rumors that Tiger was being treated for addiction to painkillers. Sports Illustrated didn't say a thing when, earlier this month, rumors surfaced that Tiger was seeking sex addiction help in Arizona. But today, the titans of sports media are coming out with it. Tiger Woods is allegedly undergoing sex addiction at a treatment facility in Mississippi.

The news was first reported on his blog by author and recovering sex addict Benoit Denizet-Lewis. "A source confirmed to me what other news sources have been reporting the last two days: Tiger Woods is currently in treatment at the Pine Grove/Gentle Path program in Hattiesburg, Mississippi," Denizet-Lewis wrote on Monday.

The report comes more than a week after sources suggested Tiger was seeking treatment at The Meadows in Arizona. According to PEOPLE's anonymous source, quoted on Jan. 12, Woods checked in around New Year's and "should be out by Valentine's Day or thereabouts."

"I spent some time at Pine Grove a few years ago speaking to staff and patients for my book, America Anyonymous: Eight Addicts in Search of a Life," Denizet-Lewis wrote on Monday. He came away with dirt on the particulars of what it's like to undergo sex addiction treatment there, and at all sex rehab programs.

"Sex rehabs... require patients (although they don't use that word, preferring 'clients') to sign a 'celibacy contract' that includes a pledge not to have sex with anyone, or to masturbate, while in treatment."

Too much information?

Denizet-Lewis goes on, "All of the programs rely heavily on intense group therapy sessions and on family and couple's therapy."

Much as Dr. Drew Pinsky suggested in early January, Denizet-Lewis says real recovery demands his wife's participation in Tiger's treatment. "If Tiger and his wife, Elin, are serious about repairing the marriage, she will be spending some time in treatment with Tiger," the author writes.

Elin, meanwhile was photographed picking up the kids in Orlando on Tuesday.

If he thinks this is going to get his wife back and that this program is all about staying with only one person he needs to take another pill!IF she is stupid enough to give this another chance then she needs a pill also. He will always the same and he will never change. This is for his future golfing and that is all. She has made the break and needs to continue her life without him as far as being her husband, he screwed this up and he will continue to screw all women just as he has always. I donnot feel sorry for him even if he does have an addiction he should of got help way before now if he thought he had a problem but now that it is out in the open he goes into therapy,Please, this is just a ploy he is a has been and really without his iron he is just another person with a problem that happens everday to many, many people. IT is his money he is thinking about, he should bejust fine, he has made enough of it so he needs to learn how to manage it and keep on "Keepin On"
I am sure he willbe on many talk shows and be a changed man, well he will be under the scope for the rest of his life so he just might as well drop out of the media and live his life the way he has been doing and won't have to worry about the media.

Rehab??? C'mon...this guy is not a sex addict. He is simply someone who took advantage of the opportuntities thrown his way. He believed his own hype and thought he would never get caught. Going to rehab is Tiger's way of trying to get rid of some the bad publicity he has gotten, by trying to make it seem like he was ill instead of what he really was and is. A man with too much money, too much power and too much vanity. You can't change a leopard's spots! Sorry Tiger!

You don't care about him except for the way he plays golf. You don't know anything about HIM. Without golf what else is there to care about Tiger Woods? ZERO. This applies to all the characters in sports and on TV. We tend to develope those BIZZARE relationship with total strangers on TV. The biggest reality is that he does not even care about you.Tiger Woods has the power to choose and you like many others are not even an option.
