Heidi Montag's Plastic Surgery Is 'All God's Timing'

Heidi Montag made a splash last week with her PEOPLE cover unveiling her new look -- thanks to 10 different plastic surgery procedures she underwent to form " a different, improved version" of herself. Now, the 23-year-old reality starlet is facing some harsh questions regarding her recent rash of reconstruction, with many wondering why the already attractive and famous blonde would alter her look so much.

In an interview with CBS' 'Early Show,' Montag is questioned about what exactly prompted her to undergo so much surgery -- which took 10 hours to do 10 procedures in just one day. 'Early Show' reporter Juju Chan lists the procedures as "nips, tucks, reductions and augmentations."

When questioned, Montag says that she's "not addicted" to plastic surgery as many have claimed, and refutes anyone who claims she is. "None of those people know me. That's just a judgment," she says. "If I were addicted, I would have had ten plastic surgeries."

Chan is quick to refute Montag, saying: "You did have ten plastic surgeries!"

Montag brushes off the claim, saying she didn't have ten plastic surgeries... just ten procedures in one sitting. "Well, I mean ten times. I really had two different surgeries. I had one three years ago, and one several weeks ago with several procedures."

Still, Montag insists she isn't an addict by definition.

"If you're addicted to something, you have to do it all the time. Not once every couple of years, if even," she said.

In contrast to what she's now saying, Montag told PEOPLE that she's "beyond obsessed" with her surgeries, and spent the last three years debating what to have done next.

Even her plastic surgeon, Frank Ryan, thinks all of the work he did on Montag was ethically sound, saying "many of these are little tweaks and little things that we did."

In a separate interview with 'Access Hollywood,' Montag says that her plastic surgeries had a major impact on her health, and almost caused her to lose her life. "I almost died after my procedure. I had too much demerol like Michael Jackson did. And my breathing was five breaths per minute," she says. Her doctor refutes these claims.

Access Hollywood's Billy Bush asks Montag if she's a devout Christian and believer in God, why wouldn't she just take the face that God gave her? "Or maybe God gave me extra because he knew what I would be doing and blessing me with such a great doctor," Montag replies.

In the CBS interview, when asked by Chan about what she thinks of herself now that she essentially looks like a different person, Montag says "I think I do look like myself, I just look like a different, improved version of myself."

And what about all of the young girls who look up to her, buy her music and read magazines that she graces the covers of?

"My main message is that beauty is really within. I'm also in a different industry than they are. I have to do things that are going to make me happy at the end of the day. I'm living in my skin, I look in the mirror ... I want to take advantage of everything and be the best me."

Closing out the interview, Chan inquires as to whether Montag had all of this work done simply to boost interest in her new pop album, 'Superficial.' Montag laughs off the claim, saying that it was "all God's timing."

Who Gives a rusty wingnut? This is a girl who was apparently quite pretty but now looks increasingly like a mannequin in a Stepford department store. How sad that she suffers such self-doubt. But it just proves that however pretty the package, if it's damaged goods inside it's never worth the price. That's why I'm so delighted that she found Spencer. He is such a perfect prat after all.

She's not ugly and she never was. I can understand someone wanting to change something about their self but at this young age and wanting to do so much already it seems that she does have self image problems. What will she do when she's in her 40's and life has really taken ahold of her? I do see women that go too far and it's awful what they do to themselves. Money hungry doctors don't seem to care enough to tell them "NO".

When will people stop judging anyone who has plastic surgery! Cosmetic improvements are a way of life here in the US. If you shave your legs, guess what - that's a cosmetic improvement. If you dye your hair, wear make-up, go for acne treatments, get a suntan, wear braces, tweeze your eyebrows - you are making cosmetic improvements.
this woman just chose to go the more painful and expensive route and if she can afford it - good for her.
