I wonder if Drew has, unfortunately, slipped back into substance abuse. Don't these actors take "cue cards" with them onstage? Pretty goofy & unprofessional. Guess until these fine folks get better control of themselves, I'll boycott going to the movies, buying DVD's, and music CD's. Oh yeah, for sure I'm going to boycott the Golf Channel. . .

What has substance abuse to do, with a stammering speech. She was happy and thrilled and no if they do not write their on little accepting speech, there are no cue cards, dummy. Cue cards are done for the presenters.
Hey "Secret" You seem to be boycotting just about everything in life. Don't you think that before you get so angry and judgemental you should get the facts first? Just a thought....but I wouldn't want to take away your agenda.
Whelp, I do not think Drew has "slipped" back into substance abuse; she seeems like a girl who honestly isn't prepared because she doesn't think she's going to win (Good Acting and Drew Barrymore do not exactly go hand in hand).
As for you boycotting movies, dvds, the golf channel (like Tiger Woods WORKS at the Golf Channel) you only deprive yourself. These people don't know you nor do they care if you see their movies...you're just one person and if you feel spiteful perhaps you could do something that actually matters - like start a club of people who get irritated at famous people. You already have a theme song "I Want My MTV" by Foggerty & Sting.
It was like listening to Obama without the aid of a teleprompter. He su cks too.
Drew also forgot to thank me.

Get off Drews' case already. She is a wonderful talented actress and she wants to get up there and accept her award from the heart. No rehearsed speeches from this down to earth girl.
About thanking her boyfriend, why in heaven, would she have to do that? She has this wonderful talent that God and her family gave her, he had nothing to do with it. If she were married to him, then a gesture of appreciation would have been appropriate, but the way actors change sweethearts so often, and actually spouses,......why?

i totally agree...being in a relationship less than marriage does not warrant a thank you
It's George Bush's fault.

Shrub screwed up everything he ever touched, but I doubt he ever got to Barrymore. No, this is one Dummya can't be blamed for.
me 2 me 2 she forgot to thank me 2....aww well i just LOVE her anyway good luck Drew...x

I don't care how much she stammered. Grey Gardens, the movie, was fascinating, and her performance in it was brilliant.

Drew and Camron have always had horrible taste in men. She'll have some other dork in 6 months. I always get so mad when she shows up the the "he's so funny and makes me laugh guy". She's always trying to be flustered with love and butterflies and daisies. That was someone else's perception of love in life. She needs to lose that and get back to reality and lose the "I'm still a virgin persona". Fabulous in GG! What TALENT!

Leave the girl alone. She has no need to thank her boy du jour. I imagine that forgetting to mention a longtime spouse or boyfriend who had actually assisted her with her career in some manner might be considered a faux pas. But not mentioning her latest boyfriend? Falls into the whatever category.

Why does she HAVE to thank him? He isn't responsible for her career. He had nothing to do with this particular movie/role so what the heck? She is the talent and has been in movies since she was barely able to read. I'm sure his career has been helped tremendously by dating her and she probably makes up for it after they get home. No, don't think I'd feel sorry for Mac Guy.

Drew is Drew. Her wonderful freshness and off the cuff remarks are refreshing. I love her when she's caught off guard and vulnerable. She speaks honestly and from the heart, and not reciting some prepared text or expound on some cause, in her speeches. Forgetting to thank her boyfriend? Did he work on the film? Perhaps an oversight, perhaps a Freudian slip of the tongue? You decide...

Who the heck is Justin Long anyway? Never heard of him before now. Why would she thank him for her performance? Was he there telling her what to say or how to act?

You haven't seen many movies lately if you don't know who he is.
I agree - who is Justin Long - they will propably not be together next year when they replay this year's award pics anyway - like Julia Roberts and what's his name - pics of her with her Oscar seem marred with him in them - A long time spouse, certainly you should thank them for their support - otherwise - thank God for your talent and your fellow cast members and the person who hired you! and what does Mac Guy represent?
