Drew Barrymore Forgets to, Um, Thank Justin Long Again at SAGs

Before any more award shows, Drew Barrymore should, um, polish up one of those, um, acceptance speeches before, uh, she gets there.

The bubbly actress stammered and stuttered her way through her thank yous after snagging a SAG for her stunning performance in the TV movie 'Grey Gardens' on Saturday night. It was her second flubbed speech in a week, coming on the tails of her self-admitted screwiness at the Golden Globes. At that awards show, she forgot to thank her boyfriend Justin Long. Well, she didn't learn her lesson. Between the "ums" and "okays" at the SAGs, she forgot to thank Mac Guy ... again.

"Improv is usually a good thing and it's backfiring on me very badly right now," she said. Throughout the speech, she clutched her Actor award and looked increasingly uncomfortable, much like she did at the Globes last week.

Her Full Speech:

Um, um, okay. Thank you very much. Again, I'm not used to this, and, um um, um... Okay. But funny, improv is usually a good thing, and it's backfiring on me very badly right now. I'm someone who – I want to speak from my heart and spontaneously, and this is not going well. Um, I just – I'm very proud to be a member of this Guild, all 120,000 members are just incredible. [applause]

And this started in 1933, and my family was – the Barrymores were acting at that time, and I'm very honored to keep their name alive. And I'm very... [applause]... honored to be in this room with you. And Jessica, to be in your company. And Michael, for you to give me a chance, I'm incredibly indebted. Because we just want so badly to express range and to try things that we never thought we could do, or take risks.

And right now I feel really sick-[laughter-and nervous, and that is a good thing. Because when you feel that way, I think you're on a good path, at least in a professional sense. [laughter]

Thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you, thank you. [applause]

After the Globes she admitted that she had "screwed up so hard" during her speech. We can't wait to see what she says after this doozy!

(In Drew's defense, it did not appear that Long was even in attendance on Saturday. But a person's absence usually doesn't stop winners from thanking them, right?)

Drew is brilliant and I love her. A true Barrymore - however be gracious enough to have something to say that makes sense. Whether you planned to win or not. She is too old for this type of behavior.

Please...for the money she makes, she sounded like a 14 year old valley girl. "Um" = filler. Be prepared or don't show up. She wasn't the only one surprised to win but since she won at the Globes, she should have um had um a um clue. But um, I, um guess, um NOT! Grow up poor little rich girl!
