Here's the Situation: 'Jersey Shore' Stars Want Raises

The cast of 'Jersey Shore' has a case of 'Hills'-itis. Like their slightly less buff brethren in Cali, Snooki, Pauly D and Co. are reportedly playing hardball with MTV in order to beef up their salaries for season 2 of the hit show.

According to TMZ, sources connected with the negotiations reveal that the cast has rejected offers to give each 5 large, er, $5,000 per episode in addition to a $10,000 signing bonus. But with the show being such a big hit -- the season finale attracted 4.8 million onlookers -- they have demanded much bigger raises.

Sources say MTV bumped up the offer to $10,000 per episode, but they haven't responded. So, that's the situation regarding those lovable, mostly Italian-American 20-somethings.

Some members of 'The Hills' reportedly scored $100,000 per episode of that MTV franchise.

More from TMZ: "We've also learned MTV has a contractual hold on the cast for another year, so technically Snooki and company have no right to renegotiate -- but it's done all the time with hit shows."

Meanwhile, police say fans of the show deluged a New Jersey nightclub Friday night, forcing the closure of a thoroughfare and leading to the arrests of four people. Property owner Dick Grabowsky told the Newark Star-Ledger that about 2,000 people showed up at the 501 Lounge in Montclair on Friday night. He says the club has a capacity of 800.

Montclair Police Chief David Sabagh says fights broke out among the crowds who gathered for the advertised meet and greet with the cast of the hit reality TV show. Four people were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and drunken driving.

Police closed a stretch of the main business strip outside the club for two hours.

They should be ashamed of themselves asking for MORE money when there's people out there that don't have jobs, are homeless, have lost everything including their loved ones and haven't even got food or water! How dare them be greedy at a time like this! DISGUSTING! I won't be watching the show that's for sure!

HUH? first of: WHO are those 4.8 Million retards watching that crab? And sec.: If the show has such a success, it's their right to demand more money. The TV-Stations make Millions. Look at American Idol? The judges get what, 16 Million a year or so, and the contestants have to pay for their own flights to go to Hollywood. Thats just Greed, but hey we are in God's Country, Greed is one of the sins, but who cares right?

It doesn't say much about the class of American television watchers if millions of people tune in to watch that collection of trash. The fact that that show even got on the air just shows how desperate MTV is for viewers.

Enough of hearing everyone preaching theres people out there that lost everything, no food, no water wah wah wah wah wah.. While its a shame that there situations like that, but people in the real life and world dont think of that before they make money or even try to make money..Granted these people are greedy for wanting a raise, but to preach that theres poor out there for a reason not to ask for a raise is just as STUPID as can be.. They are greedy due to the fact they already are under contract..

I'm from South Jersey and I am embarrassed that these people are being represented for NJ. They are whores and pigs and in 6 months no one will remember them. Snooki looks Indian not Italian. Jwow looks like a man with bad extensions. If they are representing then they should all be from NJ.

Really disturbing that this is a "hit" T.V. show. I don't care what back-ground your from, this is crap. Of course, it doesn't take intelligence these days to have a show, and certainly the people watching can't be too bright, albeit mostly teens I'm sure. Very sad.

I jusy love this show ! My meat and potatoes on television tends to be the PBS , Discovery , History channel but when I need some TV junk food it's " Jersey Shore " that hits the spot !
