It seems in Hollywood, you're nobody 'til somebody kills you. Notoriously media-shy actor Johnny Depp is alive and well, despite reports that he was fatally injured in a car accident this Saturday. According to E! News, Depp's rep has confirmed that the actor is still among the living.
"He isn't dead," Robin Baum said, flatly. "He's fine."
The story of Depp's death spread on the internet like wildfire, due in part to Twitter users tweeting 'RIP Johnny Depp," making the trending topic one of Twitter's top-ten most posted hashtags over the weekend. What may have tipped off some detail-oriented Twitter users to the hoax was the source of the story, a false CNN news report from 2004 detailing the actor's untimely passing following a booze-fueled crash.

Many years ago a couple of boys I went to high school with were killed in an accident similar to this one, and to make it even worse, they were brothers.
Did anyone bother to look at the date on the picture of the wrecked car?? It's from March 2004...

I just can't imagine how stupid people really are being so gullible and can't even really read. After you mentioned the date, I just laugh so hard at how silly people really are being dumb at times. As for getting facts, one makes up something to spread rumors like wild fire and for someone not checking out the validity of the story. People, you really need a reality check just for being stupid and silly.
Just goes to show you, there are two types of people in this world. Sheep, and the people that know that the others are sheep. And laugh all the way to the bank. Bwahahaaaaa!!!
Did you bother to READ the article? Yeah, we know the picture is from 2004 that was the point of the freakin article. So why dont you frame that GED and get back to your trailer park.
This is the first I heard of the rumor. I'm glad he's still alive. NOBODY can act like he does. Scissor hands to pirate, he's great! And I usually can't stand actors.

CNN lying? Falsifying information? Not verifying their facts? Making up stories? Must have been when Lou Dobbs was still there.

It WASN'T A REAL CNN site.... It was a FAKE CNN site... the web address was like Angelfire or something.

I must live in a box. I never heard of this rumor in 2004 and out of curiousity read this today. For the first time I have to say is this really news? I like Johnny Depp so is this publicity for a new movie?

Hey people, he was funny as the pirate, but really, he is just someone who pretends to be someone else. His life, or death is not earth shattering news, except for his family and close friends. I suggest you take all of the energy you spend on this type of entertainment crap and take a long hard look at what President Barry,,,,,ehhh,,,,,Barack Obama is doing to our Country. It is not too late to wake up. America is at the edge, don't be the one who pushed her over because you didn't care enough to get involved.
